Corp000085 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 7:30pm Thankfully, I missed the last game, but apparently the sabres finally showed once and for all what they are made of. They are still mathematically alive for the playoffs, and have a real good shot at making them still, however, i am not really concerned with the playoffs right now. I just want this team to show up tonight and either win or kick butt trying. It will be interesting to see what happens tonight, as this is a back to back situation. If I were lindy, i'd sit Miller. He just needs a night off. I know, I know, TBO sucks... Well, he is still on an NHL team. Play the guy and see what happens. Anyhow, I still have the faith and I still love my team! LETS GO BUFFALO!
wjag Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Gut check time... Hard to imagine they could play a worse 8-minutes of hockey than what happened the other night. Ottawa owns this team. Alfie continues to rub it in..
SabresFan526 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Plain and simple, tonight is the bounce back game. If the Sabres come out hard, and outwork the Sens for 60 minutes and shut down the Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson line, we win the game. The question is, are these Sabres still shellshocked from Tuesday night, or have they put that game behind them and realized that they still have a shot at the playoffs so long as they win tonight? The Sabres on Tuesday night were scared to win the game. Are the Sabres tonight still scared or do they play a good road game and win a critical game in Ottawa? There are a lot more questions going into this game than answers, we'll see how the team responds from Tuesday. My faith in Lindy tells me this team bounces back, but my lack of faith in the players tells me they are still shellshocked and scared to win games. I hope my faith in Lindy proves me right.
Guest Sloth Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 I'm going to watch to the game tonight in hopes that the Sabres make a dramatic run for the playoffs. I'm also watching because I like the Sabres. It's kind of like the Bills. Even when they're out of playoff run, I still watch the games as if it were game one of the season. Do you guys think Philly fans felt the same way about their last game last year? If any of you don't watch the rest of the games, I still think you are a devoted fan. It's completely understandble why a true fan may not watch the games.

How sad is it that we're hoping for a bounce-back game in the last week of March? Seriously, does that depress anyone else?

I'm there with ya, still my team is playing hockey or occasionally something that resembles hockey so I'll be listening. I would like them to relax and just play with nothing to lose, just let it all hang out. Somebody needs to show some heart because win or lose the game the only real thing they should be worried about losing are the fans.... So comeon bflo players remember why you played this game in the first place and it wasn't for money back then it was for something money can't buy...... show us some heart..

So comeon bflo players remember why you played this game in the first place and it wasn't for money back then it was for something money can't buy...... show us some heart.. Couldn't agree more. I was gonna start a thread about them being afraid of losing too much. I've never seen a team so afraid of losing. I've never seen a team play so scared. Of what? For crissakes, IT'S A GAME! Have some friggin fun and let it all hang out. Perhaps the best lesson this team full of players 25 and younger who've been to the ECF two year running is this: THE GAME OWES YOU NOTHING! You can't play as if the playoffs are a birth right. And then go all to pieces when that right is slipping through your fingers. I've said it before. Not making the playoffs might be the best thing to happen to this team for the long run. Let 'em stew for a summer. Let 'em SEE what they've taken for granted. Let 'em FEEL what that means. That's where leadership is born. That's where stars who've always relied on talent alone start to make the REAL offseason sacrifices needed to reclaim what they feel NEVER should have been lost. GO SABRES!!!
Kristian Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Gut check time... Hard to imagine they could play a worse 8-minutes of hockey than what happened the other night. Ottawa owns this team. Alfie continues to rub it in.. We are WAY beyond "gut check time". We're currently somewhere between, "play out of your minds hockey", and "luckiest bounces galore" time. Gut check time was against the Leafs and Sens, and they failed miserably. Start T-BO tonight even though he stinks, Ryan apparently has a huge Ottawa complex that just will not seem to go away. It's like he doesn't belive he can beat them.

inkman Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Gut check time was against the Leafs and Sens, and they failed miserably. I guess that would render them gutless. For the second straight game and only the second game this decade I will voluntarily not watch. I'd rather watch flies #%^$#! and grass grow than this garbage.
darksabre Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 I'm gonna go do something better with my time. This team doesn't want to put in the effort to win, so I'm not going to put in the effort to watch.
jrsarkov Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 i will stay until the end. but, i get the feeling that the games in April will be mathematically meaningless. Blown leads have been pathetic this year. i almost agree with the concept of starting T-Bo, but then i remember the Atlanta 3rd period "relief" game; and the Phoenix game; and the Nashville game when it was an adventure for him to stop any shots.
jrsarkov Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 american idol is not even on tonight. everyone has to watch--------until they start playing that stupid song after the sens score their 5th goal
ROC Sabres Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Agreed on all counts. I'd even start T-Bo, because for some reason Ottawa has Ryan's number, especially this year. Has his number last year too.

You guys don't really mean this.. You bleed Sabres slug... Now pick yourself up off the floor, remove that remote you embedded in the wall the other night, turn on the Sabres and ride it out.

Now pick yourself up off the floor, remove that remote you embedded in the wall the other night, turn on the Sabres and ride it out. I was agreeing that Ottawa had Miller's number last year also. I don't care how bad he may be against them, I wouldn't want to see TBO in the net.

johnyvegas Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 For the second straight game and only the second game this decade I will voluntarily not watch. I'd rather watch flies #%^$#! and grass grow than this garbage. I've been saying the same thing all week, but now i feel like watching for some reason... i wasn't even able to bail on the last game. I hit record on the DVR, pause, then come back later and watch in FF so i dont have to endure the pain of the lackluster play.. i can't tell you how many times i've done that this year. Also.. Ink..what was the other time you voluntarily did not watch? Just wonderin'.

inkman Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Also.. Ink..what was the other time you voluntarily did not watch? Just wonderin'. Tuesday. My faith is connected by a c--- hair, I am completely indefferent to the Sabre at this point. I hope they realize this at some point and try to reconnect with their fan base. I am bitter because I believed in them; the players, the coaches, the management and they have rewarded my diligence with a giant pile of puke.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Has his number last year too. He's really struggled with them in the regular season throughout his career, but in the playoffs he's been better: 06-07 vs Sens: Regular: 1-4, 4.32, .882 SV% Playoffs: 1-4, 2.53, .910 SV% 05-06 vs. Sens: Regular: 2-3-0, 2.77, .918 Playoffs: 4-1, 2.55, .923 (the GAA is inflated due to the 7-6 W in G1 of that series; the next four games he allowed 1, 2, 2, 2) So he's got that going for him, which is nice...
jrsarkov Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 maybe miller can take some photos of ottawa in march for his collection. he won't be back in the spring, and he will probably end up in the western conference after next season.
