bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Golf anyone? yup will be 80;s this weekend
sabresnutinphoenix Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I wonder what the offseason will look like this year?????
SabresFan526 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Absolutely f'ing pathetic. I cannot believe what I just saw. Absolutely pathetic. This is bull$hit. Forget about the playoffs boys. It's time to pack it in. How can you be up by 2 goals in the third period and give it up in the second half? Absolutely awful!
Bmwolf21 Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 Wolf, I blame you for this loss. You shoulda kept quiet or at least knocked wood. Actually I am passing the blame to wjag for his slightly earlier post: Pomminstein gets a big insurance goal Buffalo:    Ottawa:  Way too early to call it an insurance marker. POMMER! Work hard = big results, boys. DON'T LET UP! The Sens scored 5 in the 3rd the other night. Keep the foot on the gas. I hate when I'm right... <_< We gave up four goals in the final 6 minutes of the game. That's desperation hockey right there, boys.
Vaive22 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Golf anyone? Yep - break out the clubs!!! Atleast I don't have to dedicate April and May to watching post season hockey this year.... Thank you Tommy G and Larry Q!!!!
Vaive22 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I wonder what the offseason will look like this year????? I can answer that - a whole lot of nothing!
ET1062 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 It is nice to know I won't be pissing away money to see us get swept in the playoffs!
bob_sauve28 Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 At least we have the Catherine Bell thread to take our minds off this disaster.... <_<
TheMadCap Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Way to jump out of the way on Alfies killer goal, Tallinder. You are a . Can someone please explain what the hell he was doing BEHIND the fukin net on the goal before that?????
Bmwolf21 Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 Way to jump out of the way on Alfies killer goal, Tallinder. You are a . I'm not letting Miller off the hook on that 5th goal, but how the heck does Alfredsson get to run into one from the high slot with no Sabre within 15 feet of him? Tallinder and Hecht both backed off like it was an All-Star exhibition. Come on guys. Show some damn pride or heart or whatever.
DonInBuffalo Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 IMO the nicest thing you can say about Talinder and Lydman this season is that they have been inconsistent. I thought Talinder's play on Alfie's last goal was particularly weak. First, he telegraphs an easy to block shot, and then makes at best a half-hearted effort after that. If I'm in any kind of position of managerial responsibility for the Sabres here's where I start. Call a meeting with the entire coaching staff. This meeting is going to be very short. Me: Who is in charge of the power play? Doesn't Matter: I am. Me: You're fired. This has been going on for YEARS. The power play will for short stretches be good, but more often than not it's been below average or even at times a liability. IIRC the other night against Pittsburgh the Sabres had a 5 minute power play where they weren't able to gain possession of the puck in the offensive zone. That's inexcusable.
SCSabresFan! Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 At least we can watch Brian Campbell, Daniel Briere and Chris Drury and many of former Sabres in the playoffs
Doohicksie Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 That was the end of the Sabres season right there. Period. I have a friend who is from Detroit and we always talk about the Wings old defensemen but man those guys are nasty...we lack it... Weber has it. I never, ever feel nervous when Weber and Sekera are out there. Weber plays the body, Sekera recovers the puck and gets it up ice. If he's challenged, right back to Weber and they clear. Those two play so well together, I can't stand it. Ditch Talinder and Lydman, keep Weber and Sekera. But Paetsch on a weight trainging program and pick up a few D in the offseason. This team has been Jekyll & Hyde this season. They look so good, then they look SO BAD!
tom webster Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I can answer that - a whole lot of nothing! This game is all on management and their decision to do nothing to bring in a defensemen to play the point on the power play at the deadline. As bad as this season has been, the season turned when the power play went in the toilet and the nail in the coffin happened when that short handed goal was scored.
Doohicksie Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 At least we can watch Brian Campbell, Daniel Briere and Chris Drury and many of former Sabres in the playoffs Just. Drop. Dead. <_<

Thank you Tommy G and Larry Q!!!! It is nice to know I won't be pissing away money to see us get swept in the playoffs! I guess the silver lining this year is I won't have to worry about Sunday playoff hockey on NBC conflicting with the local NBC affiliate showing Indians games...

SCSabresFan! Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Just. Drop. Dead. <_< Sometimes the truth really hurts.
stenbaro Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 No worries, KR - I've got your back. That was a Gretzky-esque setup I gave you there. All you had to do was tap it in the open net. One would hope so. They obviously have the firepower to fill the net, so what's the answer? Is it mental? Maturity? Overconfidence? I was waiting for a month for that..LOL This team has a lot of holes to fill..Toughness and leadership again....
Claude Balls Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I wonder what the offseason will look like this year????? Maybe a Sabres fire sale. According to the brass these spineless turds need to be playing into the second rd of the playoffs to make money. Since that ain't happening, there will be no money to spend. This team is headed in the wrong direction.
Mike Oxhurtz Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Boston is current winning, so it looks like we're going to be 5 points behind them now. It sucks to be on a sinking ship, but I'll go down with it.
