Bmwolf21 Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 after watching that game i wish i was. Drury had one big goal in the playoffs for us and now he walks on water. Just one big goal, huh? Four playoff GWG in our two ECF runs, second on the team in postseason scoring in both 05-06 (18 pts in 18 games) and 06-07 (13 pts in 16 games) 15 career playoff GWG and AFAIK, the only player with a Stanley Cup to his name on the roster. Definitely overrated. I have never defended Miller but you can't actually blame this on him. Mayber the first goal, but that was a perfect shot. Second goal. awful mistake by Pominville and Lydman takes the wrong guy. Third goal - off Pominville's shin guard Fourth goal - off and up of Vanek Fifth goal - Tallinder and Hecht runs for the hills Thank you. 1st and 3rd goals should be stopped by a goalie that's gonna be asking for ~7M. End of discussion. Not necesarily, and definitely not the end of discussion. 1st goal - went down a little too early, but still a fantastic shot, not taking anything away from Schubert. 3rd goal - I still don't think he saw it until it was past him, plus it was tipped somewhere.
millbank Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Flyers win in overtime 3 - 2 over Rangers, seven points behind them now.
Guest Sloth Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 briere scored his 30th tonight; nahhhh------- no use to us. I'm waiting for an explanation jrsarkov... First to worst...first to worst...first to worst...first to worst...
BuffalOhio Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 The Flyers won in overtime. All 3 teams ahead of Buffalo got 2 points tonight. Take your fork, aim, and stick it in.
Guest Sloth Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I'm waiting for an explanation jrsarkov...First to worst...first to worst...first to worst...first to worst... And I'm talking about your remarks on management, jrsarkov.

Guest Sloth Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Anyone want to pull out their golf clubs and go golfing? Wait, I'd rather use my golf clubs on Larry Quinn's head. 3-iron would be suffice.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 I think it is safe to start the wake. I think we're looking at this the wrong way. We gotta start looking at this Irish-wake style. Let me be the first to say goodbye to the playoff-contending Sabres. We gave it a hell of a run, guys. Now let's try to have some fun. I'm gonna put on "The Thong Song" and we'll tear this place apart.
millbank Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I still think the Sabres will play Boston on the last night of season for final playoff position.....

I'm gonna put on "The Thong Song" and we'll tear this place apart. I'll start with me blessing...... 2007-08 Sabres we loved you well, it is just too bad that your own net was larger than the puck, especially there in the third, when you raised our hopes only to remind us that, what was it?, oh yes, that a spineless exodus was still possible. We drink to your health.
tasker48b Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 * Blowing a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period tells you all you need to know about the 2007-08 Sabres. * Did anyone else notice the sequence in the 2nd period when Paille was without a stick for what seemed like an eternity? The baffling part was at one point the Sens dumped the puck in ... a perfect opportunity for Paille to sprint to the bench and change/get a new stick ... I was astonished when the sequence continued and the Sabres were hemmed in their zone (mostly because Paille without a stick made it effectively an Ottawa PP) * Who do I cheer for in the playoffs now?
X. Benedict Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 * Who do I cheer for in the playoffs now? The West.
SwampD Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 * Who do I cheer for in the playoffs now? Sabres. stay close, then sweep Boston.
Knightrider Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I still think the Sabres will play Boston on the last night of season for final playoff position..... The guy with the Leaf avatar yet again is the one with the faith. He was right last week... Personally, I think the Caps will render the 4/5 game in Boston meaningless.

Personally, I think the Caps will render the 4/5 game in Boston meaningless. I think if the Caps get in they will make some noise. If they get hot, not many teams will be able to slow them down. I wouldn't mind seeing a Caps/Pens matchup. That would be fun to watch.

inkman Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I didn't watch a minute of it and feel the better for it.
SwampD Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 this sucks... totally. just shows ya how spoiled we were the last two years.
FearTheReaper Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Drury had something the Sabres are lacking this year - LEADERSHIP I'll never understand why they let him go. On second thought i forgot that this season was all about Galisano making money. He obviously doesn't care about the cup, just as long as he maintains his surplus of millions. But i see why letting Dru go made perfect sense. Who needs a player that can rally the team, keep the team in line, score big goals, and take #%^$#!ing pucks to the face?. Seems like thats invaluable on a hockey club. But we locked up Vanek for seven years,to a deal he seemingly will never prove worthy of.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 I didn't watch a minute of it and feel the better for it. I am wishing I had missed it as well...
