matter2003 Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 With Philly winning again, and going 5 points clear of us if they do, it appears more likely that our only chance is going to be to beat Boston in regulation twice to try and pass them....
jrsarkov Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 talk about uphill climb in mud. we have to basically win the rest of our games including in regulation against the bruins.
shrader Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 A meaningless Miro Satan goal has never meant more to me. He just won me my fantasy league semi-final matchup.
thesportsbuff Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 A meaningless Miro Satan goal has never meant more to me. He just won me my fantasy league semi-final matchup. That's crazy, same situation here. My opponent has Pat Kane, and his GWG earlier tied the category at 5. He also has Prospal, who's goal would have been game winner as well. Satan's goal negated that, and by virtue of tie breaker i should advance.

We were all tied up, including GWGs. He had Prospal, I had Coburn. Once Satan scored, I was guaranteed a win thanks to my team being a goal scoring machine, but its nice to get a legit win instead. The funny part (to me anyway) is that we both picked up Prospal and Coburn on the same day earlier this week.

I just don't see that happening. First we have two against Ottawa. Chances of sweeping them aren't good. I viewed the Leafs game as a good indicator of desire. It wasn't suppose to be easy, but of the eight games remaining, it was the easiest. To be embarassed off your home ice with so much on the line tells us all we need to know about the playoff prospects. They are mathematically alive, but that is all they are.

Count me as one fan that has completely lost faith in this team to put forth the kind of effort it takes to win hockey games this time of year.

Good! The last time you said that you'd lost faith, they scored 6 goals in one period. ;) (I really wanted a thumbs up smilie there but it's still not working.)
Mike Oxhurtz Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 Looks like my off-season prediction is unfortunately coming true "The Sabres will be lucky to make the playoffs, and if they do they will be bounced in the 1st round". I still hope we make the playoffs, but we have Ottawa twice this week, Montreal, then Boston. I don't like our chances of going 4-0-0 in a week. I predict the Sabres will finish 9th or 10th this year. (I hope I'm wrong)
Doohicksie Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 My prediction is this: Sabres beat the Bruins twice, but the Bruins outplay the Sabres in the other games and the Sabres are still on the outside looking in.
