jrsarkov Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 So not getting to see it is Toskala the difference tonight ? Is he stealing this one or are the scoring chances even with the shot difference irelevant ? toskala the difference we had essentially back to back 5-3 when it was 2-1 and failed to convert
LabattBlue Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 So not getting to see it is Toskala the difference tonight ? Is he stealing this one or are the scoring chances even with the shot difference irelevant ? I don't think the Sabres had that many great chances tonight despite the shots on goal.
sabregoats Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 wow Miller absolutely sucks. The Sabres were the far better team tonight (at least in the second and third) but the leafs took advantage of sub par goaltending. I missed the first period so I have no comment on the first two goals, but the 3rd and the 4th were both stoppable. We have a serious problem with Miller, because he is going to demand much more money than he is worth and the Sabres are probably going to end up over paying. I would have much rather over payed for either Briere or Drury and let Miller walk. But we are going to be stuck overpaying for the one player that just isn't worth it. He just gives up way to many rebounds and is too weak on the glove side to ever be an above average goalie in this league.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 I came in late what the fruck went wrong tonight??? I love it...so compelled to curse that you'll change the spelling to get it in...classy.
wjag Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 What happened to our offense in this period? Just 4 SOGs... That's just not gonna cut it...

EDIT: Wouldn't the far superior team have scored on at least one of the 5 on 3's?
LabattBlue Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 toskala the differencewe had essentially back to back 5-3 when it was 2-1 and failed to convert Toskala was not the difference on the 5-3's. The Sabres didn't even get a great scoring chance. All I remember is Kotalik firing the puck into a Maple Leaf 3 times in the span of 20 seconds.
jrsarkov Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 get the clubs out. philly won bruins play tomorrow philly plays again sunday i friggin think
wjag Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 Correction 4-3 Caps Great... That is the worse case scenario for tonight... Buffalo losing, Philly won and Caps winning... Sheesh...
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 amazing 3; 5 - 3 powerplays not a goal.
sabregoats Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 How exactly should he have stopped the fourth one? EDIT: Wouldn't the far superior team have scored on at least one of the 5 on 3's? not give up a 15 foot rebound on the first shot. Our kick the rebound out wide instead of right in front of the net. You can't count on the D to clear ever rebound at some point the goalie needs to help out by minimizing the number and severity of the rebounds.
jrsarkov Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 the 4th goal was a joint effort. miller failed to get back to the post roy sort of watched as stajan poked it home. i roy takes the body, no goal

R_Dudley Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 I blame it on the news about connolly, they just felt sorry for themselves and in honor of his lost PP prowess decided to show how bad it is w/o him.. ... Seriously though folks looks like it is not meant to be tonight... just look at that last Toskala save..
Bigthuder1636 Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 WIth the empty netter 5-3 Caps win. Buffalo back to 10th place
jrsarkov Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 How exactly should he have stopped the fourth one? EDIT: Wouldn't the far superior team have scored on at least one of the 5 on 3's? is your game at 10:30 tonight? you must be miller's brother. yeah- toskala was not the difference
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 Miller has had a sub par defense in front of him all year...now he has 3 AHLers in there, and yet he is expected to put up Brodeur like numbers.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 is your game at 10:30 tonight? you must be miller's brother. Wow you caught me.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 Did Miller play his best game of the year? No. Did he play as bad as this board seems to suggest? No. Around here, every goal should have been stopped. There's no other explanation...it must be a soft goal. It seems like people would rather just blame the goalie...when there are plenty of other reasons the team lost tonight. Eg: Not scoring 1 goal in 3 5 on 3's is a problem. Scoring 1 goal is a problem...you aren't going to win games scoring 1 goal, etc.
jrsarkov Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 that was horrible. only hope is catch boston
R_Dudley Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 Great... That is the worse case scenario for tonight... Buffalo losing, Philly won and Caps winning... Sheesh... Can't worry about other teams need to take care of your own business.. IMHO bad way to get in anyway if it's because someone else loses vs. you winning..... Was it really just 4 SOG in period, that doesn't cut it? ... Well make or break series now in front of them w ottawa need both of them ,,, find out what we got....
sabregoats Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 No, I don't expect Brodeur like numbers. I just expect a GAA around 2.00 not 2.6. He seems to have more four goal nights than 2 goal nights. Their is a lot of room for improvement on this team and Miller is one of the Players that needs to work on his game. He consistently has trouble with shots from more than 10 feet and with shots on his glove side. I also think he has a problem freezing the puck/ controlling his rebounds. As I have said before what is so frustrating with him is his flashes of brilliance. He is just so inconsistent it is madding.
jrsarkov Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 i demand everyone stop complaining; yancey fancey brought us the game tonight; hats off to them.

They lost 4-1, not 5-4 or 4-3. Unless he pitches a shutout tonight, it really doesn't matter.
