Sekera is just always where he's supposed to be.

I wouldn't go that far. He's gotten better. He still frightens me. Shakira's play during the Ls @ Carolina and @ Pittsburgh was horrendous - it brought back memories of Ken Sutton. Denis Potvin on XM radio the following day after Pitt called Sekera out as well.

On the positive side, Campbell looked awful his first year as well...hope AS develops the same way.

;)

Thanx, glade pommers got the first star. Man that guys been good as of late. Even in the first two periods when the team wasn't going, pommers was for sure their best player.

Vanek was told before the third period that Inkman was calling him out.

He probably heard about the calves...

My six year old son watches most Sabres games with me. He roots for the other team every night. Tonight he said, wow your guys are pretty good.

Buffalo now leads the NHL in goals scored.. WHAT???? How'd that happen... Man leading the league in goals for and struggling to make the playoffs..

Wow that's messed up.

Game thoughts...

-I was at the arena both tonight and almost one year ago tonight when the Sabres trailed to the Leafs 4-1 going in to the 3rd and came back to win 5-4.

-Miller a terrible goal to set the tone for the 1st period and 2nd periods.

-Except for Pominville, Hecht & Gaustad they were really bad the 1st two periods and the first few minutes of the 3rd.

-The Sabres were booed several times in the 2nd period and were booed off the ice to end the period. They played maybe the worse period at home that I've seen in a long time and absolutely deserved the cat calls. Lindy even agreed with it during his press conference.

-Glad too see Vanek back on track, but there is no excuse for his horrible play the last few games while playing with Kotalik and Max and also the 5 games or so before that, where he was going through the motions.

-Once the Sabres got the 3rd goal, you knew Tampa was cooked.

-Pominville with a HUGE goal to get the Sabres rolling in the 3rd.

-Sekera is going to be a good blueliner, but he is going to have to work on his upper body strength.

-Did I say that Pominville has been AMAZING?

-I know Tampa has nothing to play for but what a bunch of quitters. If I was Torterella, I would hold a practice as soon as the plane lands.

-I'm glad I was there because that will be one of the games you remember for many many years!

GO SABRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

inkman? you still off the Vanek bandwagon?

Not sure if Inkman fell asleep or swallowed his tongue....but he's awefully quiet!

Can't say I wouldn't be in the same frame of mind if I posted the same!

Laughing with you! :D

Yeah, Paetsch too. They both get outworked along the boards like a coupla rag dolls. Patches has the foot speed and moves to make up for it most of the time, and Sekera is good positionally. And when Weber is out there with Sekera, no worries, cuz Weber is a monster of the boards. He needs to get those other two on his weight training program.

Stick a fork in 'em.

:o Oh ye of little faith... ;)

I nearly turned it off at the 2nd intermission. But I figured next goal would determine if it was a rout or if the Sabres could make it interesting. But there is no way I could have predicted that type of goalscoring outburst in the 3rd.

And your boy Vanek was credited with another by the league giving him a hat on the night. :D

Got to have faith Boys, a four goal period and a 5 - 4 win lets go.....

Hats off to Millbank...a freakin LEAFS fan!! I just sat down and started reading. His was definitely POST OF THE NIGHT!

GO SABRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now this is freaky, I was there tonight with my girlfriend, and we were both there for that game last year (I usually only go to a couple games a year). Last year we were there with her friend and her friends fiance and his friends who were all leafs fans wearing Leafs jumpsuits in the 300 level, that was a great game, but this one was sooooooooooooooo much better. They were bad and deserved the boo's during the second period, but all that changed in the third, the guy around us who was yelling at the players and complaining then turned and started yelling at people in the section for not standing and cheering more

Oh that was really bad!!!

Lecalvier has a ton of time and an open net

Lydman got schooled..

Buffalo:  Lightning:

Yes, Lydman got schooled, but it never should've happened. Nice turnover by Max. Would someone please hit him in the head with a leadpipe again so we don't have to put up with him?

ranger looked like he was in some SERIOUS pain.

Better him than me!

What an unbelievable comeback tonight. Never saw it coming!

GO SABRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good post overall, but there is no way that goal to start the second - Vinny's first on the cross-ice pass when 4 of our 5 guys were in the corner - is on Ryan. He came across to try to stop a one-timer, and Vinny stopped it and settled it before shooting. There wasn't much Ryan could do on that.

Yes, Lydman got schooled, but it never should've happened. Nice turnover by Max. Would someone please hit him in the head with a leadpipe again so we don't have to put up with him?

Funny thing - I don't usually do this, but when Max wound up from beside his net and started wheeling through his zone and into center ice, I said to my wife "watch, here goes Max on his own, and here is where he loses the puck..." - right on cue. When that play ended up in our net, the only thing that kept me from screaming obscenities at the TV was realizing that my son was finally sleeping in the next room and I couldn't handle him waking up.

You can flame me if you want, but while I can live with the dumb plays from Max if he is scoring and making plays, it's not worth having him in the lineup when he plays like that.
