I'm a fairly big movie buff and happened to stumble across Full Metal Jacket on Universal HD (about the 15th time I've seen it) and I felt compelled to start this thread. What movies would you guys (and girls) feel that all our nation's youth (when age appropriate) should be required to view.

I'll start with Full Metal Jacket. In the genre of war flicks this movie stand up with the best of them and I think anybody under the age of 25 and over the age of 15 should see this piece of celluloid.

#%^$#! that!

How much can you know about yourself, you've never been in a fight? I don't wanna die without any scars.

It sounds like some boys just getting some aggresion out, unless someone was really getting hurt.

I'll stick to action movies here. Die Hard has to be right up there. The Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies should be right up there too because they're Harrison Ford at his finest.

Sounds like the Sabres need to see that film, not our kids.

I was thinking the same thing while watching Full Metal Jacket.

I think they need a visit from Gunnery Sergeant Hartman.

The deadliest weapon in the world is a Buffalo Sabre and his stick. It is your killer instinct which must be harnessed if you expect to survive in hockey. Your stick is only a tool. It is a hard heart that scores. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of truth. You will not score. You will become dead Buffalo Sabres and then you will be in a world of #%^$#! because Buffalo Sabres are not allowed to die without permission. Do you maggots understand?

Kazaam.

The Hottie and the Nottie.

Almost anything with Shaq or Paris Hilton as headliners...

Seriously, though - not a "movie" per se, but I'd go with the Band of Brothers series. Fantastic look at WWII.

Band of Brothers, and add to that, Saving Private Ryan.

I wonder what he would think of the Dallas Stars.

Really looking forward to "The Pacific," the new Band of Brothers-esque series scheduled for release next year.

I think America's youth sould concentrate on learning to read and write at least at a 7th grade level first so I would vote on no TV and a curfew at sunset! Yay! :P
