Stoner Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 February 16, 1977 Don Edwards records his first career shutout in just his third NHL start. The rookie turns aside all 23 Chicago shots in a 3-0 Sabres' win at the Aud. February 16, 1983 Boston goaltender Pete Peeters comes to town with a 31-game unbeaten streak, one shy of the NHL record. He leaves with a loss ? the Sabres beat the Bruins 3-1 at the Aud. February 16, 2004 Miroslav Satan scores four goals to lead the streaking and suddenly high-scoring Sabres to a 7-2 rout of the Atlanta Thrashers at HSBC Arena. Satan's second goal is the 250th of his career, and his third goal represents his 500th career point. Danny Briere, captain of the month in February, adds a goal and two assists, and Mika Noronen (remember him?) loses a shutout bid in the third period.
shrader Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I miss Pete Peeters. Greatest name of all time.

I believe that same season Philly's Bob Froese came into Buffalo with the longest winning streak ever to start a career or something and also lost.
