hopeleslyobvious Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I remember a few weeks back I was listening to Hockey this morning on XM, and someone thought that if the U.S. took any injuries at all, Ryan Miller should be moved to the active roster (even if it means having 4 goaltenders). They obviously didn't do this when Aaron Miller withdrew from the games. So, apart from our bias as Sabres fans, and not wanting to see Miller get worn out or hurt, what does everyone think about this? First of all, is it ok under the rules to call a goalie up from the taxi squad to replace an injured forward? Second, do you think after Grahame's poor performance against Latvia that this is something that Waddell is considering? Third, how effective could Miller be in such a situation, keeping in mind he would have to get on a plane, fly to Italy and be ready to play quickly? Fourth, if Miller does need to be moved to the active roster, [/i]for any reason why isn't he in Italy. Even if they can't have 4 goaltenders in practice, doesn't it defeat the whole purpose of the taxi squad to have one player back in the U.S.? Discuss.
