Drury, Zubrus, Kotalik

I'm just getting to reading all of the posts this morning, but did anyone call out the play of the night made by Drury? He knocked the puck out of mid-air with the blade of his stick and started the rush that scored the 4th goal. I'm sure it has been noted already, but what a sick play. The NJ announcers noted that if that shot got through, the Devils were in perfect position to bang in a rebound.

The other play of the night was the Miller save in the 3rd on Zajac, but it was diminished by the worst goal allowed of the year on the Martin backhand. Ugh!

Lorentz did make a telling comment on how the BACKHAND is THEE hardest shot for a goalie to judge... Kinda letting Ryan off the hook I am sure... But, that backhand probably led to the "ugliness factor" of how that shot and subsequent goal looked... I don't know, I still haven't seen that goal yet... And I probably won't muster up the courage to see it! :D

Jim... I will just take your word for it! God, I love radio!!

:D :D

JL has said that several times this year- that the backhand is hard to judge. Also, that's a common theme that a lot of commentators mention.... especially when a backhander beats their favorite goalie.

...Not to sidetrack off the DKZ (actually, I like what one poster called it: DAZ) line... Kinda funny thinking of Doohickie's comment on JL... Did anyone catch JL's critique on one of Brodeur's goals? He said something along the lines of: "That was really bad goaltending." Then later goes on to let Ryan off the hook with the "backhand assessment"...

<_< <_<

I agree, the DZK line looked great -- what does Lindy do when Max returns? It's no secret he originally planned to pair Zuby with Max.

I don't think you break up a line that is clicking.

4th line?

i said it in the game day discussion miller let in a rebound goal and they said it was not his fault brodeur let one in later and they said it was horrible...maybe jim had on his sabres coleroed glasses and couldn't tell it was basically the same goal at the other end with some minor exceptions
