Two or less Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 WOW.... idk how serious it will be. He has left the game at the 9:25 mark of a 0-0 game with Germany, Tomas Vokoun is now in goal for the Czech's. ps. sorry if this is in the wrong topic, i thought aud club was for off-topic, but mods feel free to move it if it's in the wrong area.
Taro T Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 So how long until someone claims he's faking and/or a quitter?
Stoner Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Briere, did he sprint down the runway to the lockerroom? :o
fushetti Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Briere, did he sprint down the runway to the lockerroom? :o haha
Seannie34 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 he walked to the locker room under his own power and he was back out on the bench without his pads in a few minutes. They are going to say what happened after the game.
mphs mike Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Was anyone watching the game? Is it too early to tell or is this something that might have an impact on BOTH the Olympics AND Lord Stanley's chalice?
Seannie34 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Im watching the game. Its too early to tell. He fell down after a shot and it looked like he was hurt and he got up and played until the next stoppage about a minute later. After the whistle he went to the locker room. It looks like it is a lower leg/knee problem. Ill let you know what they say after the game.
mediumishot Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 This is why im glad Miller is sitting at home watching, instead of risking injury....o and i heard Hasek just had to go slap an olympic reporter that questioned his heart before the game

I just heard on tv Chris Drury's groin is hurt and probably won't play for awhile
Stoner Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 You know, I'm really disliking this "general discussion forum." News of an injury to Dominik Hasek should be on the Sabres forum.
Seannie34 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 vote in the poll about where these should be on Center Ice!
topshelfcookies Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Watching highlights of the Czech game on CBC, host Ron McLean, a guy who knows his hockey, stated that Hasek made the exact same motion and exact same body language that he did when he was injured vs Ottawa in the '98 Playoffs. Here's hoping he's out for a while! And congrats to Teppo!
hopeleslyobvious Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 They said they heard a hamstring, then a minute later they said they heard it was his groin.
Stoner Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Good! I hope he skated over his left testicle on his way off the ice.
deluca67 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Good! I hope he skated over his left testicle on his way off the ice. That's kinda of rough to wish on the Greatest Sabre of All Time.
mphs mike Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 That's kinda of rough to wish on the Greatest Sabre of All Time. I thought his wish was for Hasek, not Bert!
Saber61 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 if he is out for an extended period of time... im lovin it... well catch the sens for sure then...
Stoner Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I thought his wish was for Hasek, not Bert! Here's Mike over the line, going right in on goal, he shoots... he scoooooores!
deluca67 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I thought his wish was for Hasek, not Bert! How many MVP's did Bert have? Was he ever considered the best player in the game outside of Buffalo? When it comes to hardware it's not even close.
deluca67 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Here's Mike over the line, going right in on goal, he shoots... he scoooooores! Hoold On. The referee is waving it off. Offsides is the call. The crowd was loud and no one heard the whistle.
Guest Guest_zed Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Hasek's injury is the abductor muscle, which is related to the GROIN. You think Mucks might have seen this coming... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=155130&hubname=nhl
BetweenThePipes00 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I thought his wish was for Hasek, not Bert! For better or worse, greatest and most beloved are two different things ... it's apples and oranges comparing a forward to a goalie in some ways, but like DeLuca says, can't argue with Hart Tropies. No one says we have to like him more.
Stoner Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I like the line in that story about the injury not affecting the rest of his season with the Senators. That's really wishful thinking. And Ottawa holds its beaver-tail breath.
deluca67 Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 So there is no mistake. I would like to see Hasek miss the rest of the regular season. It would give the Sabres a better chance to win the Division. But lets not down play what he did for this Franchise and what an incredible run he has had as an NHL goalie. Gold Medals, MVP's, Vezina's and a Cup Ring. Put the bitterness aside and appreciate a player who gave this Franchise and the fans night after night of the greatest goaltending they have ever seen. Hasek won more games by himself then most goalies win in a lifetime. ;)
Stoner Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Interesting to learn that Hasek had been complaining about only one day between traveling to Italy and playing. And that he was upset that his equipment was lost along the way, forcing him to borrow some from Sabres goaltending coach Jim Corsi. Add the vagueness of the injury ("tense left leg"), Hasek's fragile psyche and his history of bailing out, and the question becomes a valid one -- is he faking? I doubt it, but with this guy, you just never know.
