Two or less Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Last 5 official matchups Latvia - USA 4:5 (Turku WC,27.04.1997) Latvia - USA 3:2 (Zurich WC, 11.05.1998) Latvia - USA 1:1 (St.Petersburg WC,07.05.2000) Latvia - USA 2:0 (Koln WC, 30.04.2001) Latvia - USA 2:3 (Karlstad WC,29.04.2002) I predict 4-2 USA!!
Saber61 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 shouldn't this all go in the Aud Club?
PTS Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I agree with the majority. Aud Club is for non-hockey items. Olympics stay on main forum. Go USA!
PTS Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 USA up 2-0 on goals by Gionta and Conroy. Drury is on a line with Eric Cole and a player I can't figure out yet.
PTS Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 2-1. Latvia scores. Miller would have made that save. :P
hopeleslyobvious Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Yeah, big rebound and the shooter had plenty of time to set up. I love how much of a big deal they are making about how well the US is playing...It's Latvia. Make a big deal out of it when we're playing this good against one of the bigger teams.
PTS Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 What a frackin joke. Ryan Miller is picking his ass at home and Grahme is looking like ass. Latvia is up 3-2. Can we also have any more 38+ year old defenseman. GMs are crap in sports. I could have put together a better USA team.
chileanseabass Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 anyone know if the game is being broadcast on the net? i don't have cable, so i can't watch the u.s. (gulp!) lose to latvia

Can we also have any more 38+ year old defenseman. GMs are crap in sports. I could have put together a better USA team. To his credit Grahame has been playing good of late and although I'm with you guys on the Miller bandwagon, I am still extremely happy that Miller is back home in the US. I would rather have a goalie rested for the homestretch then a gold in the Olympics (at least one that is won by a bunch of NHL players anyway). Are the goals he let in so far that bad?
hopeleslyobvious Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Now I will admit, I am trying to get some work done while I am trying to watch this game, so I am not paying very much attention, but...I don't think Grahame has looked very good. And the defenseman aren't going to be able to pinch much in this tourney because he is not going to come up with the big save when they get caught.
Corp000085 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I'm happy that miller is home too. However, i would not shed a tear if the USOC had egg on its face if grahame fails.
mrjsbu96 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I'm at work and no website seems to be updating the score or time left in period...little help anyone!?
hopeleslyobvious Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 3-2 Latvia...2nd intermission.
Corp000085 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 i hate the term "drive" for shot.. its just silly
mrjsbu96 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 3-3 btw - how long has it been since Irbe played in a NHL game? Is he still wearing that horrible looking hat?
BetweenThePipes00 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 It appears that he is, along with the rest of his equipment from 1987 ... i remember when carolina went to the finals that one year they said he never gets new stuff, he just repairs the old stuff himself ...

Corp000085 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 irbe is still wearing his old crap. they made mention about how he played for a bunch of minor league teams the past couple seasons... then the one guy mentioned that if he does well, he can go to the next level. um?? didn't he play in the nhl for like 10 years? what's higher than that?
PTS Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Nagano 1998 Part Deux. Who will trash the hotel room this time around since Roenick is not around. Did Chris Drury even play today?

Who will trash the hotel room this time around since Roenick is not around. Did Chris Drury even play today? Drury was out there...I think he was on a line with Cole for a little while, and I remember seeing him get dragged down in front of the net. Hopefully the US can pull off a win tomorrow, because it might get ugly when we see some of the better teams.
gregkash Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 this is definitely an upset and not how we wanted to start off the tournament.

Corp - who was morris titanic? did he either play for the Sabres and/or was he a hockey official in WNY?!?!? This is what happens to hockey teams that travel overseas and just meet their teammates for the first time and then attempt to win a hockey tournament.
