SabresFan526 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 This was one of the worst officiating I have ever seen. Hey, when did tripping become legal? I think I missed the memo. I have seen 3 tripping calls that have not been called. One against Michael Ryan, another on Thomas Vanek, and a third on Drury. 3 non-tripping calls. This is absurd. What's going on with this lack of officiating?
mrjsbu96 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 i'm looking forward to DVR'ing that for 3-4 calls that i know more ppl will whine about - if we weren't playing like such i bet the officials would be more inclined to accept when vanek and ryan 'thrust' themselves to the ground - IMO that is why they don't get calls. as soon as both of them felt the stick or hand they dropped. if they just had kept skaing through it, i bet you get at least one of those calls.... much better play that last 5 minutes to that period - we skated and we finished our checks. Bmwolf21 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Dare I say... Kalinin has really beem hustling again tonite, along with some good defensive plays deep. I can agree with that...so the list is up to...3.
Sabretooth73 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 no matter what happens tonite, if the sabres win the laffs will be deflated and get embarrassed tomorow on their howe ice, if they win, the sabres will have extra motivation and the laffs will get embarrassed on home ice, so big deal, sabres will have #1 seed in the East, yawn
smith Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 icing on the cake: TSN announcers mumbling from inside the leaf's . i might need a new television tomorrow morning if i keep drinking

The one on Ryan looked pretty clear to me. Ryan was skating through the neutral zone with the puck, and Kaberle clearly puts his stick in Ryan's skates and he totally trips Ryan. I might be willing to concede Vanek's as a dive, but Drury's was a legit trip. Drury doesn't dive, so you know when he falls in the Leafs zone with the puck, he definitely got tripped. It was pretty clear to me he got tripped as did Ryan. But, the officiating has been really bad, I think at least.

Sweet Baboo Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 you can get bottles of beer at the arena?
Kristian Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Campbell should get an assist on that, this is a friggin' joke...

I see it that Ryan's stick inadvertently got between Kaberle's legs, and when Ryan blew by him, the stick was still tangled up there and basically hooked Kaberle on the inside of the knee. Watch it again, you'll see Kaberle stumble from the 'hook'. Actually it was a good no call.
DWarner Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 you can get bottles of beer at the arena? Plastic ones.
Kristian Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 wtf is wrong with these guys? Believing their own press again, I believe.
BRH Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 It really doesn't do any good to whine about the boys in the stripes when the boys in blue are giving us plenty to complain about by their own damn selves. Tonight they all look like they're looking for the pretty play to impress the fans. The Leafs would be winning by five or six if it weren't for Miller. Jesus Christ what the hell was THAT.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 UGH WTF ARE WE DOING HERE? EDIT: NOW we can blame the refs...
MichFan Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 UGH WTF ARE WE DOING HERE? EDIT: NOW we can blame the refs... No, now they'll start calling stuff. There's still hope :D
smith Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 let's leave the purses and limp wrists home tomorrow night.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Wow, nice shot by TV... What a surprise, a great chance for Ryan that doesn't go in the net...<_<
MichFan Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Another PP for the good guys. Suddenly the switch has been flipped and they look good again.
SabresFan526 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Just something I've noticed a bit tonight, maybe it's just me, but it seems like Vanek has an aversion to passing the puck. Anyone else seeing this or am I just crazy? He seems to want to make these nice moves and shoot the puck. Even if someone's with him, he prefers to keep it and try to make the highlight reel goal instead of pass it. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky.
