ofiba Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Marty Good to see Marty hasn't lost his love of trash talking. I can't believe we had to trade this guy. :wallbash:
RayFinkle Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 One of my all time favorite Sabres....I still might get a Buffalo Biron jersey.
TM8-PL16 Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 of all pro athletes, I might choose him to spend the day with when asked that question of "What famous person would you most like to spend a day with?" what a great person, the world needs more like him.
Doohicksie Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 "You just missed your ....?...., buddy." What did he say there; I couldn't make it out. I can see Marty getting his number retired by the Sabres. Really.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 I can see Marty getting his number retired by the Sabres. Really. For what?
sabregoats Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 its good to see someone giving crosby a tough time.
Doohicksie Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 For what? Longest serving Sabres goalie. Evar.
ofiba Posted March 21, 2007 Author Report Posted March 21, 2007 For what? Best team player and best trash talker?
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Longest serving Sabres goalie. Evar. He was our starter for 3 years...The Sabres missed the playoffs all 3 years. Doesn't seem like jersey retirement material to me.
Crestwood Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 I'm going to offer up Andrei Trefilov's number for retirement, too. Playing behind Hasek, he never got a fair shake.
Supersabre Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 Too bad that the Sabres traded him. What were they thinking?
Bmwolf21 Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 If they retire Marty's number, then they need to rename the arena after the Gilbert and the French Connection, because the whole retired number "honor" will have lost its meaning.
eball Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 I'm not going to talk crazy about retirement of numbers or anything, but if -- and I repeat, if -- the Sabres win the Cup this year, I hope that one of them uses their "day with the Cup" to celebrate with Marty. What a great guy.
