ExiledInIllinois Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 :D Inky my man, I come in peace... Slowly walk away from this thread! You can come back in later... :nana: Just crunching the numbers... This weekend's home-home series will be huge, HUGE for the Leafs!!! They are in a fight to the death for a playoff bid. As of tonight (thanks for giving the BORING, SNOOZE INDUCING, LEAGUE WRECKING Devs a 2-1 beat down!) they have locked horns with the 'Canes and Habs @ 80 pts and have a game-in-hand over the Habs... Yet, are TWO wins off the Habs and 'Canes @ 34... Most likely if these teams all tie at the end of the regular season... It MAY go down to a second tie-breaker... Here is why: 'Canes hold the edge over the Habs... Leafs hold the edge over the 'Canes... And guess what? Toronto and the Habs play in the season finale... And their season has the Habs up by one game with each losing to the other in a OT/SOL once this season... If Toronto should win that game... Could be quite a billing for the NHL in that final regular season game! But... Back to the point of my thread... How big is this weekend for Toronto!!! Can BFLO enact the "Golf Swing" and send the Leafs to arrange tee times? :D Basically Round 1a for the Leafs! Okay, Inky... You can come back in now... Go Sabres!
ExiledInIllinois Posted March 21, 2007 Author Report Posted March 21, 2007 Oh... Forgot to add... One of last year's SC Finals teams HAS been eliminated from playoff entry... The Edmonton Oilers... With Calgary winning, they take 86 points... The Oilers can only get 85 points... One down... One to go! :chris: :death: :death: to the 'Canes!

Not to mention that most of the teams that have won the Cup over the past few years have either not made it past the first round in the following season or they've started heading for the golf course once the regular season is over. BTW, for all you 'Caniacs out there: Get ready to start watching the Masters down in Augusta (GA), because you might as well see Rod Brind'Amour tee off with Tiger Woods. (BTW, I've been through Augusta a number of times. Not much to write home about.)
