rickshaw Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Ruuttu to the backhand? That is his move. Why is Vanek shooting???
wjag Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Shootout: Briere:  Stafford:  Vanek:  Chistensen  Ruutu:  Crosby
jayg Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I think Miller is still looking for his skates.
Monkeygirl Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Vanek must be trying to get benched. What a weak, retarded shot.
MBD Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Like I said, the Pens wouldn't be denied. Glad the Sabres got a point, though.
Sweet Baboo Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 and we're going to oooooooovertime! that means we at least get 1 point if we lose. John Madden?
Corp000085 Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 the shootout was weak, but this may be what this team needed. the sabres lose 5-4 and 2-1 in the shootout, but drury absolutely stole a point and hopefully some confidence. And is anyone else convinced that vanek might just be hiding an injury and not just playing invisible for the heck of it?
McJeff215 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 That was very non-Miller like. The comeback was a good thing, I guess... that's a positive.
WanderingEye Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Wow, Vanek is terrible at shootouts, what a weak shot.
darksabre Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 what happened to aggressive miller? crosby's goal was something miller would have rammed the shooter on earlier in the season, he got out played on both shots due to a lack of aggression. blah. and why do they keep sending vanek out? ugh.
phSabres84 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 WHY WHY WHY was Vanek even out there!!!
mrjsbu96 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 by the way, did anyone else catch Roy's little "temper tantrum" at the end of OT? it is that type of attitude that might be why he, along with briere, do not get calls anymore. he may have gotten hit early and in the middle of the game it is probably an interference call, but with one second left in OT the officials aren't going to call it. instead of taking the hit and heading to the bench he stayed on his knees and threw his stick in the air. no official will ever admit it, but it is showing them up, whether you agree with the call or not....

I thought patience was Miller's specialty on the shootout...
Bmwolf21 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Please, no more Vanek in shootouts...I don't care how good he does in practice. What is he now, 2-for-11?
MBD Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Still first in the East and no one got injured. Time to get more walking wounded back and build off of this.
Guest Sloth Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Due to injuries and a lack of energy, Ottawa is going to catch the Sabres, which is something I DO NOT WANT TO HAPPEN! Ottawa is now only 6 points back w/ plenty of games to play. Ottawa is on fire, where as the Sabres are not. All of the high hopes we once had are diminishing at a dramatic rate.
Corp000085 Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 They stopped the bleeding anyway. exactly... 2 points up on new jersey instead of just 1... they finally came through in the clutch... and they didn't give up. next game 2 injured guys could be back too... possibly 3. the sabres lost the game, but they definintely "made things right".
DWarner Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Did anyone else notice Ruutu shot his rebound at Miller and then Miller almost drilled it back at him but the ref stopped him?
darksabre Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I thought patience was Miller's specialty on the shootout... it is, but i remember plays like those earlier in the season where miller woulda jammed his stick out at the puck instead of letting the shooter get that close to him.
sabregoats Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Vanek must be trying to get benched. What a weak, retarded shot. that was possibly the weakest shot ever in a shoot out. He looked like he was trying to pass it to the goalie.
carpandean Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Rangers blew an early 2-0 on Ottawa, losing 3-2. Bastards. And ... umm ... yeah, that Quiznos meat commercial is just crazy! What's the FCC's stand on sexually suggestive commercials?

I count 7 points and Ottawa has played an extra game. EDIT: If Ottawa wins all of their games for the rest of the year, the Sabres would need to win 7 to tie. That's 1 game above .500.
rickshaw Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Please, no more Vanek in shootouts...I don't care how good he does in practice. What is he now, 2-for-11? I agree. Why not use Roy, or Hecht or hell, a defenceman? Tallinder??
darksabre Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I agree. Why not use Roy, or Hecht or hell, a defenceman? Tallinder?? I was talking to a friend on aim and we both typed "Drury, Briere, Roy" for the shootout. Augh. well, on to Florida.
