Stoner Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Damn.. Off a skate Miller you should of had that one.. Buffalo:  Pittsburgh: :death: :death: Pretty soft. :D In all fairness, Miller made some great saves, on Crosby, Ruuttu and Malkin twice in succession. Hate to say it, AGAIN, but typical Miller. Makes the tough saves and...
bob_sauve28 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 How about the laugh on the "That's what real women need!" girl in the Quizno's commercial? Or that she wants real meat! :D Can't believe they have that commercial on.
rickshaw Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Tree scores his 6th? Wow. 2nd shot of the period. Apparently we were outplayed that period?
Corp000085 Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 great... bettman after the commercial break. Say what you want about this telecast, but i think we can all agree that the penguin fans' emotions are at an all time high. its been 3 or 4 years now, but those two weeks between hamister, portland oregon, and golisano were quite the roller coaster
Crestwood Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Congrats Gary. It happened just how you [cough] orchestrated it. I'm happy the Pens are staying in Pittsburgh, but the whole thing's a little suspicious...
HopsGuy Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 great... bettman after the commercial break. That said, if our guys get the win, I'll buy my Pens' fan friend a sandwich at Primanti's.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Pretty soft. :D In all fairness, Miller made some great saves, on Crosby, Ruuttu and Malkin twice in succession. Hate to say it, AGAIN, but typical Miller. Makes the tough saves and... You think everything is a soft goal...This time you're right.
HopsGuy Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Congrats Gary. It happened just how you [cough] orchestrated it. I'm happy the Pens are staying in Pittsburgh, but the whole thing's a little suspicious... Meh. They should have built a new rink 10 years ago and it would have saved them $100M. Of course, their waterfront is developed, so I really shouldn't be casting stones.
Crestwood Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Did the Mellon Arena sound crew just play "Hurricane 2000" for the Sabres' reentrance? Weird. I mean the sudden influx of high "lottery" draft picks to the Pens they had for a few years there... But yes, they should've rebuilt 10 years ago.
Brave Ronin Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Hey this is my first post. I just like to lurk... but anyways: Ive been watching NFL telecasts for a few years now, and at least in the more blown out or boring games the announcers would at least try to commentate on the game with a degree of professionalism until the second half. This is my first year watching the NHL since i was like 9. These VS. guys are utterly embarrassing. I don't expect the energy of the buffalo broadcast but my god, their mics sound like they are wired in a closet. I also can't expect the fun of rick and jim, or the bias they have for the sabres, but man... these guys and the whole manufactured 'storyline' and interview crap during play is just weak. Its an NHL game, not a reality show. Is VS large enough to broadcast a few games a night? is this a national game? Are these announcers the NHL equivalent of a browns/49ers game? How many posters of sidney crosby do you think they have tacked on their bedroom walls? They sound like jim nantz ogling over tedy bruschi. "...and Sidney Crosby, who by the way can cure cancer with the sweat from his helmet, just assisted on the play.." :wallbash: I'm a new sabre fan, and i dont know how much i will post, but this interesting game is being tainted by a crappy network telecast.
wjag Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 with Drury in the box, Sidney beats Miller Buffalo:   Pittsburgh: :death: :death: :death:
Crestwood Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 Welcome Ronin, and a fine first post. I think you summed up just about everything wrong with the Vs. broadcast. The play-by-play (or lack thereof), awful camera angles and love-affair with all things young in Pittsburgh are downright annoying. I hope you foster your love for the Sabres further...and well thought-out opinions are always welcome here when you want to post them! And speak of the devil...ugh. Down again.
darksabre Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 kalinin #%^$#!s up and peters saves his ass...
wjag Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 ahemm Buffalo.... shoot the puck at the net... 6 minutes gone and no Buffalo shots on goal yet...
darksabre Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 buffalo needs to try and make more ugly goals
McJeff215 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 buffalo needs to try and make more ugly goals Sure thing, they'll do it on this next penalty kill. Feels like they've got themselves caught in yet another slump. Giving up rushes while shorthanded tonight, too. We need our regulars back. Thank the hockey gods for the cushion to start the season. Of course, this one isn't over yet, but we're playing much like we have the last three games.
SabreInFla Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 I think we had more scoring chances against the trap last game.......there is something wrong with this team.
McJeff215 Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 F%&k. Looks like four in a row now.... time to turn this one off, I can't stomach these Versus "isn't a happier hockey rink" douche bags anymore.
Corp000085 Posted March 14, 2007 Author Report Posted March 14, 2007 4-2 now. boy, i didn't realize that they could play worse than they did against new jersey
wjag Posted March 14, 2007 Report Posted March 14, 2007 That one hurt Was it Gonchar or Rechhi on the tip?? Big difference in PP was they have guys in front of the net and the Sabres didn't.. Okay all you bridge jumpers ... proceed Buffalo:   Pittsburgh: :death: :death: :death: :death:
