Corp000085 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 7:30 pm Just win baby. Don't really care how it's done, but just win!! LETS GO BUFFALO
ExiledInIllinois Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 I'm not holding my breath... Same here Inky... Game is on Versus (Vs.) and in HD... :D
Stoner Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Let's see if we can get our fourth straight win in one of the franchise's chambers of horror. Hopefully, Lindy, Jeep, Rip and all the old-timers are talking about the winning streak this morning at breakfast, not poisoning the new guys with tales of how tough it's been to win in this building. I've always wondered how such things are passed from one generation to another, and I think the only explanation is that it's handed down by word of mouth. Instead of trying to run and gun with the Pens, why don't we buckle our belts and play a good defensive game? That's how we finished the regular season last year (15 GA in the last 8 games), and it got us ready for the playoffs, IMHO.
fallen627 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Hopefully the team will be motivated after having these past few days to reflect on the last three games.
will Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 inkman, you are without a doubt the most cynical contributor i've encountered on a messageboard. just sayin'. i finally figured out that by getting comcast digital cable at nearly the same cost as rcn basic, i'll be able to order center ice without the necessity of a dish. got hooked up yesterday, so i'll be seeing my first ever versus broadcast tonight! i hear they aren't all that great, but it's better than the nothing i've been watching all season (and can't be worse than jack edwards/nesn and the bruins broadcasts). center ice, next on my list of things to do. i should have done this months ago. i'll be able to watch cbc's hockey night in canada, too! i miss don.
eball Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 The old avatar is back...apparently I upset the hockey gods when I changed it last week. This should seal a Sabres' victory tonight.
X. Benedict Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Sabres are 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings. Sabres are 2-5-2 in the last 9 meetings in Pittsburgh.

I made the comment and you'd think I was calling Ink a heretic - Ink was crying about it for days on end....looks to me as if you have way too much time on your hands and worry yourself to death with all the negativity. BREATHE DEEP, lay off the coffee, and remind yourself it'a long season with peaks and troughs. We're all on the same team here ( I think....) with different levels of paranoia. GO SABRES !!!
inkman Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 inkman, you are without a doubt the most cynical contributor i've encountered on a messageboard. just sayin'. I guess you haven't been to enough message boards. wow, somebody else but me thinks the same thing? inkman Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Maybe you are right. This will be my last post here.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Loss number 4 in a row tonight. Sadly. Nope. The team finally faces an opponent that is not going to try and suffocate them and will pull off a nice win.
JujuFish Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 inkman, you are without a doubt the most cynical contributor i've encountered on a messageboard. just sayin'. He's not even the most cynical contributor on this board, let alone any.
mrjsbu96 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 wow, 6 hours till gametime and in the midst of a 3-game losing streak yet nobody has circled the game in their book at the "most important game of the year;" or better yet let's see what officials that Pitt brings to the game with them tonight? <_< sarcasm aside, i'm still not worried. i like the way they played on saturday night despite not getting the win. it seemed like we had a lot of good chances and that is not usually the case against NJ. looking forward to some good hockey tonight and getting through these remaining games so the real season can start....
shrader Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Nope. The team finally faces an opponent that is not going to try and suffocate them and will pull off a nice win. What better cure for a recently struggling offense than Marc Andre Fleury?
Bmwolf21 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Let's see if we can get our fourth straight win in one of the franchise's chambers of horror. Hopefully, Lindy, Jeep, Rip and all the old-timers are talking about the winning streak this morning at breakfast, not poisoning the new guys with tales of how tough it's been to win in this building. I guess we should be glad that the Pens are getting a new arena. Maybe the Sabres' bad karma will stay in Mellon Arena when they move... Instead of trying to run and gun with the Pens, why don't we buckle our belts and play a good defensive game? That's how we finished the regular season last year (15 GA in the last 8 games), and it got us ready for the playoffs, IMHO. I think the Sabres are starting to realize that they have to start switching from the winter-blend, high-octane offense to the lower-octane spring/summer blend featuring more defense (sorry, saw too many news reports on why gas prices are on the rise today.) That was the article in the News yesterday(?) that they need to start locking it down more in the defensive end, so I hope we start seeing some more boring, workman-like 3-1 wins. The old avatar is back...apparently I upset the hockey gods when I changed it last week. This should seal a Sabres' victory tonight. Same here... He's not even the most cynical contributor on this board, let alone any. Boy that's the truth. If you think he is the most cynical you need to branch out off this board - try next door at the Bills' board (The Stadium Wall) for reference. Inky, don't go! You're about the only one here who agrees with PA on a regular basis. I shudder to think how he'll feel if you leave...
will Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Maybe you are right. This will be my last post here. drama queen. ;) i think you have the best avatar (eball you're a close 2nd)...will that make you stay?
Stoner Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Maybe you are right. This will be my last post here. He's wrong, so you have to stay. I am the most cynical, by far.
Corp000085 Posted March 13, 2007 Author Report Posted March 13, 2007 don't go... and the sabres will win tonight, so you'll have to come back to eat crow tomorrow
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 I am the most cynical, by far. I second that!
Rabbit151 Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 TSN strikes again. The game is on vs. tonight, which we don't get in Canada, TSN has the rights to it. But, they're not showing the game. So, we don't get it, even though I have Center Ice.CI doesn't have it on their schedule at this point, although, the last time this happened, they picked up the game like a half hour before it started and added it to their line-up. Cynical? Boys, I am the King. I just try to control myself on these boards a little bit. After those last 3 games, I don't see how they win the cup. If they can't fight through solid D, exceptional goaltending and the trap, they won't win. Simple. Every year, when play-offs roll around, the eventual winner had to do it night after night. I just don't think they can get it done against teams like that in play-offs. Early in the year, you couldn't stop watching a Sabre game because they were always a threat. Now, it seems they are more like a team from the late 90's early 00's where when they get down a goal, a come-back ain't happening. BTW, I didn't see that NJ game, how on earth did they surrender a shorty with less than a minute to lose the game? That must have been one disgusted crowd that left that game.
wjag Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 BTW, I didn't see that NJ game, how on earth did they surrender a shorty with less than a minute to lose the game? That must have been one disgusted crowd that left that game. Paetsch was at the point with Briere cycling back when Campbell went in deep. Paetsch drill a shot right into the D-man guarding him. The D-man took the puck and headed up ice 2 on 1. Then a 3rd Devil trailer came (Rafalski) in and took the puck. He pushed it by Miller. It was horrendous. 100% Nathan's fault...

I'm still mystified by the overreaction of fans. They probably should have lost 6 or 7 straight based on the mounting injuries. Since, they surprised everyone and continued to win, expecations have been raised. I don't think it's fair to say this is the team that will be competing in the playoffs. Getting Max, Kotalik and Spacek back plus having consistent lines for a few games will get them back on track. If they end the season playing like this with a healthy team, yes, be worried.

Glad to be past the injury bug.. That really was an absurd...
