Stoner Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 First 33 games -- 2 SHG allowed Last 35 -- 11! It all started around Christmas when we started giving them out as stocking stuffers.
sabregoats Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 i like stocking stuffers, but those short handed goals are more like coal to me.

Taro T Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 How many with a 2 man advantage? I can think of 2 off the top of my head. I can only think of 1 ottomh. (The Minny shorty was a 5-on-4 as the 1st penalty ended right about the time White wound up. <_< )

How many PP goals have they scores since then? I know they have dramtically improved over the past couple of months...

Sure, but you have to factor in the SHG. I know we had this debate last year about the ends justifying the means. I'd like to see the NHL, or someone, keep a power play efficiency stat that factors in SHG and also calculates by minute, not chance.

You might be onto something there...Let's face it, there are PP's that are only PP's in the box score. If a team on the PP takes a penalty 10 seconds in, both teams end up with 10 seconds of PP, and in the stats it counts the same as a full 2 minutes.
Goodfella25 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I know why this is happening...I asked Irv and he said apparently it is the result of some "hoods" on the opposing penalty kill.
