Corp000085 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 7pm This game is as close to a playoff game as you're going to get. Miller is starting again, so we'll see what happens with him. I'm not going to comment too much on the last 2 games, because they were SOOO horrible, they don't warrent a comment. I'm just interested to see how the sabres respond for this eastern conference showdown. Lose this one, and you can start to consider the #2 seed... Win it, and all is well again.
inkman Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Lose this one, and you can start to consider the #2 seed... Win it, and all is well again. Does finishing with the number 1 seed really guarantee anything?
fallen627 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I think the Devil's have an extra game on us. That doesn't mean much though. I just hope we look better than we have in the past two.
Chief Enabler Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 New Jersey has not been that great lately either, Gionta has a hamstring issue, the flu went around, and broduers been giving up alot of goals, (did not analyze if it was defense or him, but still) Gomez is all over the place though, Elias is the closet comparsion to briere in the league, and Langenbrunner always gives us trouble (hate that guy). I see this very similar to the rest of the games this week, slow, strategic, need to force opprtunities, shoot the puck! The Wild had all the passing lanes and drop passes covered. Our defensemen passed well but the forwards need to get it together. Consider this playoff hockey, no help o ut there, just win! :bag: Does finishing with the number 1 seed really guarantee anything? I definetely think so, especially in the second and third rounds, like last year when we were always the worst seeded in every series. Wouldnt you want to be at home? What if we play Tampa or Atlanta long distance? I would rather not travel if you dont have to. It would be nice to finish with the most points for once, I believe the team gets a nice league bonus. If they keep it together, they deserve it. I will take the bag off after they win :bag:
inkman Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I would rather not travel if you dont have to. As much as I don't want YOU to be inconvenienced, I was actually referring to the TEAM. I understand how being a higher seed is better. I just feel like the daily updates about Buffalo's standing in the conference and league is a little much.
Stoner Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Ink, I think he was referring to the Sabres traveling. Either you need another cup of Joe, or I do. :) wee, wouldn't you say the travel issue is pretty even in the playoffs. I mean, if you don't have home ice, you have that extra trip to start the series, but by the time the series winds down, it shouldn't be an issue. I for one have always loved starting on the road. Ruff's teams have, too, going 8-2 in Game 1.
inkman Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Ink, I think he was referring to the Sabres traveling. Either you need another cup of Joe, or I do. :) My wife would disagree. I drank the first pot before she got up and was pissed there wasn't any for her. :bag:
Fronz1103 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 a four point game today, another "trapping" style team to play, but hopefully the Sabres pull this one out... Why can't they seem to solve the trap?! Is it the way they attack the zone or dump it in?? I just hope that before the play-offs that this team finds a way to beat it or else i think each team that plays us will retreat and play the trap. For me personally I think The Trap = Crap At the Arena yesterday, there were an awful lot of people leaving 5 minutes into the third period... 15 minutes to play!!!!!! and you have fans leaving!!! NHL what is 'wrong' w/ you!?!?! Why can't you sell seats? Why can't you get a big T.V. contract?? Now, lemme say I dont blame the trap for all the NHL's problems but it just might be the beginning... Come on Sabres... beat "the TRAP/CRAP" tonight and keep these Damn devils off our backs!! GO SABRES!!!!
wjag Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Lindy, your lines haven't worked against these trapping teams... Please try mine just one game.. Hmm how about tonight? Stafford, Drury, Zubrus Pomminstein, Briere, Hecht Vanek, Roy, McArthur Ryan, Mair, Kaleta I just know Stafford playing with Drury and Zubrus will turn this around...
connee Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Does finishing with the number 1 seed really guarantee anything? Not a thing...these games now mean less and less.
hopeleslyobvious Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Brodeur hasn't been playing his best hockey the past few games. Throw everything at him. If the Sabres can get a 2 goal lead, this game will open right up.
Corp000085 Posted March 10, 2007 Author Report Posted March 10, 2007 in the beginning of the day, i felt very very blah about this game... I'm more excited now. This is a big game, and if the sabres win, they can put a stranglehold on the #1 seed, and the last 2 games will be a distant memory. This is a big big game, and i'm pretty sure the real buffalo sabres will show up tonight.

This team plays it's best hockey with a chip on it's shoulder. Let's hope they have been reading what the press has to say today.
rickshaw Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 You'd think we'd be ready tonight. Seems like they were looking ahead to this game all week. I hope.
JujuFish Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I think we're going to win this one, a nice tough win.

Strow Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 About time! Was wondering what fan was skating as number 15 the past few games.
wjag Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Is there a better goalie one on one in the NHL than Miller? He just robbed Elias..
Peace Frog Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 "Miiillllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! He robs Elias!!!!" - RJ
wjag Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Damn!! Zajac takes a deflection in front of the net Buffalo:  New Jersey: :death:
