evil_otto Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I love the graphics and sfx! In the opening mantage, Parent looks like he's gearing up to murder someone (thx Jason).
EdwardSauve Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 How about when the announcer says, "Parent makes the best save of the playoffs!" Personally looked like a normal glove save to me. A while back someone posted about how crummy and non-athletic the goalies looked in the 70's and early 80's. I couldn't agree more.
All Along The Watchtower Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Great stuff, really great stuff. That was my era. Thanks for the find! BTW, this was also the same theme music NBC used for it's baseball "Game of the Week."
jackb Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Love the still shots of the fight. Reminds me ofAli's fight when all they could show the non-closed curcuit audience were stills.......ah the memories. Was that Brian McFarland doing the highlights? He used to have a hockey museum in NF,Ont. Cool place

Until goalies starting wearing all the huge equipment, including safe headgear, Bernie Parent was the last goalie to have a gaa under 2.00. They only seem less athletic because if they threw themselve all over the ice, they risked very serious injury. When the old time goalies got hit in the face with a shot, they got carried off on a stretcher. On the contrary, they were a lot tougher than today's goalies. I remember Hasek once making a save with his face!!
Supersabre Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Wow does that intro take me down memory lane. How long has it been since the NHL was on a national network?
