The_Swannie_House Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Well, I think we finally get by Luongo and the Panthers.....Buffalo 2 Florida 1
PTS Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Boy I can't freakin wait to watch this Trap game. This game will be boring. Hopefully the Sabres can break through.
topshelfcookies Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Has anyone heard if Marty or Miller will be in net tonight? I wouldn't mind seeing Marty tonight, and playing Miller vs Carolina. PTS, I agree, tonight's going to be a bit of a bland game. The Sabres have had an awful lot of trouble getting anything going against teams that really key on the trap.

The key to beating the trap is getting a two goal lead early on. Then Florida has to open it up and if that happens they can't keep up with us.

I remember the last Florida game, they would try to skate it in, realize it wasn't working, and then weakly dump it in. Not going to work.
JujuFish Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 A victory here against a team that's had our number should definitely help against Carolina. Buffalo, you don't lose twice in a row too often. Don't let me down tonight. Sabres 3, Panthers 2
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 game on... and its the florida announcers. what a drag
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 miller is in goal.. he better be starting tomorrow too...
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 ugh... i wish these guys would quit saying "nothing-nothing" sabres killed off a penalty and seem to be playing hard.
Seannie34 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 sabres up 1-0 at the end of the first with the goal coming from Dumont. Pretty good period, it wasnt as boring as everyone thought it would be.
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 no, it wasn't seannie... i enjoyed watching the sabres work the puck and sustain offensive momentum. They had some bad passes and puckhandling in the neutral zone, specifically transitioning the puck out of the defensive end, but all in all, i'm impressed. The dumont goal was pure luck. it was cleared to the slot area, at waist height. Dumont tipped the puck down. it took a 45 degree turn to the ice and literally bounced straight up again and over louongo (sp?). If dumont had 1000 chances, he'd make it once. The only problem i had was the one series that florida had when they hit the goalpost. Other than that, its smooth sailing for the sabres. 1-0 after 1.
Larry Playfair Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Alright, Dumont from Kotalik. Been a while since we heard dumont on the board.

Someone had a bad giveaway right in front of the net too...I thought it was Lydman, but I didn't catch a number. Overall a good period. As mentioned before the passing is still a little weak, but looks better than the last couple games.
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 i'm ashamed to admit that i was talking with my wife during most of the first period and only glancing at the tv... although, now she's gone upstairs to watch NBC's brilliant tape delay olympics (DIRECTV, PLEASE PICK UP CBC SO I CAN WATCH THIS STUFF LIVE??) so i can direct my entire attention to the sabres.

BetweenThePipes00 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 He was agreeing with you ... you said it wasn't boring, and he said, no it wasn't ...
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 so you disagree with me that it was a pretty good period and then you say it was impressive and smooth sailing... what did you disagree with? it wasnt as boring as everyone thought it would be. no it wasn't seannie sorry for the vague post man... i was agreeing with you that it was a good period. forgot to add the quotes in there!
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 SCOOOOOOOOOOOORES novotny. that goal was a product of hard work deep in the zone... especially pomenville with the behind tghe back pass
hopeleslyobvious Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Congrats on his first career goal!
JujuFish Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 The key to beating the trap is getting a two goal lead early on. Then Florida has to open it up and if that happens they can't keep up with us. They've got that 2 goal lead now. Go Sabres!
hopeleslyobvious Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 So I have a stylistic question...I knew that was Novotny's first career goal, but they flashed it on the screen before I made the post...Do I have to cite to the broadcast? Or should I just cite to his player card on ESPN or Yahoo showing he doesn;t have any goals yet?
Seannie34 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 That was a great goal by Novotny, especially if you look at that line of Novotny, Pominville and Roy 3 AHL players that just outworked the panthers and Luongo
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 does this horton guy have any relation to tim?
Corp000085 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 geez... chris gratton, yes, the chris gratton, scores to make it 2-1
Seannie34 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 that what we get for taking so many penalties...
