I was looking at the top scoring players and I got to thinking (dangerous, I know). I was thinking, I wonder if any of our guys are more productive per ice time than some of the more elite players. It turns out Sportsnet has that information in their statistics. Here's what I found:

Ice time per goal scored (min 10 games):

Player G IT/Go IT

Marian Gaborik, Min 23 28:31 656:14

Teemu Selanne, Anh 39 30:14 1179:35

Brandon Bochenski, Bos 10 31:34 315:45

Thomas Vanek, Buf 34 32:29 1104:49

Chris Drury, Buf 33 34:23 1135:02

Ice time per point (min 10 games):

Player Pts IT/Pt IT

Sidney Crosby, Pit 98 13:26 1316:53

Teemu Selanne, Anh 78 15:07 1179:35

Jason Spezza, Ott 67 15:12 1019:15

Marc Savard, Bos 84 15:45 1323:41

Jarome Iginla, Cgy 76 15:54 1208:36

Maxim Afinogenov, Buf 57 15:55 907:29

Daniel Briere, Buf 78 16:05 1254:44

Thomas Vanek and Chris Drury are 4th and 5th in the league in the average amount of time it takes for them to score a goal. Max and Danny are 6th and 7th in the average amount of time it takes for them to record a point. Not too shabby. What does it mean? Probably not much, but I found it interesting, so I thought I'd share.
