deluca67 Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Teams don't have much time to decide if they are staying in the race or not. Only five teams are really out of it right now. Wash, Pitt, Columbus, St Louis and Chicago are the only teams without a prayer. Will this effect the trade market. Will teams hold on to players with the thought of selling hope to their fans? Or could it drive up the price of players with so many teams looking to gain that edge inorder to sneak into the playoffs

While I'd love to replace that Kalinin/Fitzpatrick spot with a solid guy who could also give Numinnen a night off, there's a good chance it will not happen. Just about every team with Cup hopes would LOVE to add a defenseman ... the price may get too high.
