Peter Puck Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Hi. I'm a longtime member of TBD (Chevyvanmiller) and have been lurking here for sometime now. I really enjoy the site and the posters. Considering the fact that the Sabres look poised for a nice long run to the Cup, I thought I'd better get registered now and beat the bandwagon rush. Anyway, as a way to say, "Hi" here's a great link to an article on Peter Puck (notice the avatar). Those of you old enough to be kids in the 70s probably share my warm memories for this great Hanna Barbara creation. Peter Puck Btw, there currently is no video of Peter available anywhere. Hopefully, they'll release some soon. Here is a link to some PP audio, enjoy: PP Audio
Peter Puck Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 Thanks for all of the love. One more, "Welcome to the board" and I'd broken down in a mass of Sabres brotherly love induced tears. (sarcasm on)
GrimFandango Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Who are you again? Just kidding, Welcome to TSR... I left TSW after the tampa bay game 2 years ago and never returned. I have made my residence here, and it has been much more enjoyable.

Maybe I'm just dreaming. But welcome to the board :D
Peter Puck Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 In the words of the great Sally Fields, "You love me, you really love me." :D

Claude Balls Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Welcome aboard. Much less stressful here, unlike TBD. I guess you could say winning breeds happiness! Enjoy. :D
X. Benedict Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 9-10PM we are all watching the games! Anyway, Konichiwa and Gambatte Tokyo Katana!!!!

That and the shootouts in the other intermission were almost as entertaining as the games sometimes. B-)

I was just relieved to learn that the Monkees drummer wasn't Peter Puck.
mphs mike Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Welcome aboard old man! As one who vividly recalls Punch drafting Taro, and the orange balcony facade draped with "Taro says: " signs I'm confident you get constant reminders of your/our age.
Peter Puck Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 Thanks for the welcome everyone. Yes, I'm sure that winning does breed happiness. I sort of equate watching the Sabres the past two years with watching the Bills during the super bowl years. Happy to be here :)
sabregoats Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Thanks for the welcome everyone. Yes, I'm sure that winning does breed happiness. I sort of equate watching the Sabres the past two years with watching the Bills during the super bowl years. Happy to be here :) Im with you there watching this team the past two years has been the most fun i have had following a team. As I was a bit two young to fully comprehend what was going on with the bills and how special the superbowl years were (I was only 5 for the Giants superbowl) this stretch has been my first expereince with a team like this. Although the sabres of the mid to late 90's were also a blast to root for, and those guys who made up the hardest working team in hockey will always stand out as some of my favorite atheletes.
eball Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 Welcome. I also spend time at TBD but at this time of the year it's almost unbearable over there.
cdexchange Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 (I was only 5 for the Giants superbowl) Wow Goats, thanks for making me feel old. I was in my third year of college for that game!
Rock DJ Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Wow Goats, thanks for making me feel old. I was in my third year of college for that game! I was in my first war for that game.
LabattBlue Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 Anyone who remembers Peter Puck and lived in WNY at the time must also remember Howie Meeker on HNiC. He would always start his segment with something along the lines of..."okay kids listen up now and watch this tape..." or something like that.
