Claude Balls Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I'm sure RJ has been practicing his ZZZzzzuuuUUUbrus call all week to get ready for DZ's first goal as a Sabre. I want to hear what you think his new nickname as a Sabre should be. I'm sure the boys already have one for him, but who says we can't throw a few out there. I like "Dizzy". Just a little extension of his DZ initials. Hopefully he's not dizzy out on the ice.
Peace Frog Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 If Zubrus can forecheck like Kaleta can knock McGratton did the other night, we can call him The Bruiser. Or, if he can surgically score goals, then I'm all for Dr. Zubrus.
Orange Seats Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 When RJ was talking about him the other night against Toronto he called him "Dangerous Zubrus," so I expect that to be what RJ whips out when Z scores his first goal. "DAAAAAAAAAAAANGEROUS ZUBRUS"
RayFinkle Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 For what it's worth, his "offical" nickname (what the guys on the ice call him) is Zubbie (ZOO-Bee).
MichFan Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 How about "Nathalie's husband"... or if he studs out for us, Zuber-man.
wjag Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 How about "Nathalie's husband"... or if he studs out for us, Zuber-man. I like Zuberman
SabresFan526 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 He's been going by Zubs and Zubbie for years. I do like Dr. Zubrus though. That's a good one.
X. Benedict Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 So when he scores are we going to hum.... Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?
X. Benedict Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 How about "Tits" I had a friend in high school whose last name was Zubrist which became Zu-Breast which eventually became Tits. :D Tits is just a little coarse for my liking. How about we call him Funbags?
shrader Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Why does he get a nickname when no one else has one?
gregkash Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I believe i've already declared it The Zube in a another thread.
Dizzy Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I'm sure RJ has been practicing his ZZZzzzuuuUUUbrus call all week to get ready for DZ's first goal as a Sabre. Just a little extension of his DZ initials. Hopefully he's not dizzy out on the ice. Great minds think alike, that's how I came up with the user name that I've been using the last few years. Hope you guys don't mind me jumping on the Buffalo bandwagon. Zubrus is my favourite player, been following him since his rookie season, so whatever team he plays for is always #2 NHL team (I won't mention what my 1st is). Excited to finally get to watch him the playoffs after the last few seasons in Washington.
Goodfella25 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Sorry There's no shame in being a Leafs or Canadiens fan....
RayFinkle Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Sorry Philly fans get a temporary pass for now. VIVA LA MARTY!!
X. Benedict Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Philly fans get a temporary pass for now. VIVA LA MARTY!! That has to be approved. It is better to be a Flyer than a Flyer fan.
ofiba Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I say we call him Zu Barnes. Maybe when he scores we can ask people to put the video of the goal on Zube Tube.
shrader Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 That has to be approved. It is better to be a Flyer than a Flyer fan. Good point, for now the Flyers get a free pass, but not their fans. They're probably still wishing a bloody death upon every player on this team.
The_Swannie_House Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I like "Zuber"man haha....thats my wife's maiden name!
Wild Jay Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I like Zeus myself, much more powerful than Zubie, which sounds like a character from a children's show on PBS.
Claude Balls Posted March 2, 2007 Author Report Posted March 2, 2007 How about "Tits" I had a friend in high school whose last name was Zubrist which became Zu-Breast which eventually became Tits. :D That's already taken. According to Ray Emery,"tits" is Spezza's nickname. Couldn't belong to a better player IMO. I assume they call him tits because he plays like a girl.
