inkman Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Linky "It's frustrating," Leafs defenceman Hal Gill said. "I don't know what they're thinking. [booing] doesn't help. If you want a winning team, support them. That's Fan 101. Support your team. When it doesn't happen sometimes, it's frustrating." Awww, boohoo.
X. Benedict Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 If Hal Gill was my best player on the ice for my team, not only would I boo, I would be throwing small appliances, lab animals, expired produce, and unattended toddlers onto the ice.
Rock DJ Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 That's interesting. The few times the Sabres have been booed in recent years, the players said they deserved it in post game interviews. Its the attitude "We need to give them something to cheer about". Not.... "The fans have to cheer us so we'll play better for them". Nice one there Gill. :nana:
IKnowPhysics Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Don't think Gill's the only one starting to resent the fans' reactions: McCabe: "You can't control it," McCabe said of the darts aimed at him. "I'm a guy who works my ass off every night. I made a mistake. Hockey's a game of mistakes, that's the way it goes. "My teammates know what I do for them, that's all that matters for me." Raycroft: "What am I going to do about it, unless I go and try to buy all 20,000 seats and give them to my family and friends," Raycroft said of the booing after the game. "There's nothing you can do."
cdexchange Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 If you want a winning team, support them. That's Fan 101. Support your team. Fan 101  Haha, what a condescending jackass!
rickshaw Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Yea Fan 101. Spend a tonne of your hard earned dollars to watch us play like crap but make sure you keep on cheering for us even tho we are getting our lunch handed to us by the most injury depleted team in all of hockey, including 3 of our top 4 scorers. Yea, Gill's right. Those fans that booed are terrible people. How dare they.
X. Benedict Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Yea Fan 101. The problem is most of Ontario learned Fan 101 before they could spell. Now they are in Grad school.
