The Tomcat Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Conklin was 2-3-2 with a 3.23 goals against average this season, but played for the Western Conference champion Edmonton Oilers in 2005-06. For his career, Conklin is 29-22-4-3, with a 2.60 goals against average and .901 save percentage. He's ok but is there another guy out there on waivers with more experience?

I would say those are pretty good numbers for a backup, especially with the reduction in salary from Marty.
IKnowPhysics Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 If Corsi says Conklin can get back his game, Conklin can get back his game.
deluca67 Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 It's doesn't matter who the #2 is. Biron, Conklin or whoever. If Miller goes down the Sabres are screwed.

apuszczalowski Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 The word I have heard all day on him is that his poor play this year has been from him still not mentally over the goal in Edmonton last year. Hopefully Corsi can work with him and get him over it. You have to figure just having a top team like the Sabres making a deal and having faith in you should be enough to get you over that mental block. He does have his name on the cup, and has more SC experience then Miller, and Biron (heck he even has more playoof experience then Biron) if you want to get technical

MBD Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 The word I have heard all day on him is that his poor play this year has been from him still not mentally over the goal in Edmonton last year. Was that the game-winner by Brind'Amoron that won the game, after Roloson went down? If so, I can see how that would haunt him.
apuszczalowski Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Only if he wrote it on there with a magic marker. I believe he does get his name, he played in the cup final one game (or atleast part of) and he played games during the season as he battled for the starters job all year if I'm not mistaken while being moved back and fourth between Edmonton and Hamilton Oh Sh*t, sorry I am an idiot, For some messed up reason I thought Edmonton won.
Taro T Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 ... For some messed up reason I thought Edmonton won. I think we all wanted them to win after the way the Sabres went down. Wishful thinking.
deluca67 Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Oh Sh*t, sorry I am an idiot, Too easy. :D :D :D
carpandean Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 I think Conklin is a fine replacement for Biron: (see about 1:24 into the video)
Rabbit151 Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Regier said during intermission that Corsi worked with him in the summer and seems to feel he can be a good goalie again. He was the starter for a time in Edmunchuk.

apuszczalowski Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Too easy. :D :D :D Laugh it up while you can I realised after I typed the first part that I was completly wrong. I guess it was more of a mental block that comes from having Carolina win a cup  Atleast I was able to admit it
