LoveAndWarrener Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Not interesting for us, he's too pricey. But I'm curious to see if Sather would really let him go. Said he'd have to be floored by the offer. BTW, got this from ESPN.com, didn't just dream it up.
inkman Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 Whoever trades for him will have to make sure they get his dress size.

Didn't he say earlier in the season how impressed he was with Buffalo's style and how he'd love to play on a team like theirs? Maybe he's just getting tired of the Rangers knowing they're not doing anything this year. If he was willing to take the biggest paycut in the history of the NHL, it'd be awesome to have him. (Though he might want to get more attention than he'd deserve and mess up chemistry.)

One of them will be gone next year. You know, the Rangers don't want to disrupt their locker room chemistry.

Claude Balls Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 He can't take a paycut, its not allowed under the CBA If he was traded, his new team would only be responsible for part of his salary. The Capitals are still paying like half of it this year.
Knightrider Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 New York is responsible for $4.9M of Jagr's $8.4M salary.
DWarner Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 To EDM for Smyth?? Interesting to think about...
Claude Balls Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 New York is responsible for $4.9M of Jagr's $8.4M salary. Actually, the Capitals are responsible for the 4.9 mil. Washington was responsible for 20 mil of what was left on Jagr's 44 mil contract when he was traded to the Blueshirts. Rangers would't owe JJ anything.

Claude Balls Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 For what it is worth... I go that info from ESPN earlier before they put it on Insider. Everything is so complicated in the NHL who knows what's right. All I know is that Washington is still paying something for JJ.

Claude Balls Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 ward to the broons. this year. as in, now. Just heard that. The Bruins are really trying to get into the playoffs this year, but I don't see it happening. They lost to the struggling Trashers last night.
