matter2003 Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Man that must have been a serious laceration to take that many stitches... hopefully he doesn't try and rush back too quickly if it is a concussion...

BuffalOhio Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Drury's head hit the ice. That's what cut him. His helmet flew off with the hit. It pisses me off that these guys wear their helmets so loosely. It needs to be on your head when you get hit like that; that's kinda what it's there for.
drnkirishone Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 dude you take a solid piece of plastic to the head like that and see if your helmet stays on
BRH Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Drury's head hit the ice. That's what cut him. You know this for a fact? A lot of the time when a player's head hits the ice, the player was already out before hitting the ice. Otherwise, like cats, they're able to control their landing a little better. I remember an Amerks game several years ago there was a fight between Sasha Lakovic and Rumun Ndur (then playing for Norfolk). The two of them somehow bumped heads during the fight and Ndur went out like a light and fell face first onto the ice. They had to come out and shovel off a pool of blood. Anyway, people initially thought Ndur was knocked out by the collision with the ice. He wasn't. It was Lakovic's head that knocked him out and that's why he hit the ice headfirst. If Hamilton is right and it was the faceshield that cut Drury, what an irony that would be. Drury only started wearing the shield after the injury to Bryan Berard.
