matter2003 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Man that is really impressive for such a young team to be climbing the standings like that during crunch time...they are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games....they have the young talent and are finally putting it together. Don't think they will do much in the playoffs...they are too young...perhaps next year this team becomes the Sabres top competition?
FogBat Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 It's not just on talent alone. Sometimes the tough guys contribute as well. It's been said that the Avs didn't repeat when they won their first cup because they traded away Chris Simon. I'd watched some of his fights. In his younger days, he was one of the most feared fighters in the game. He's not as much as he used to be. Having said that, regardless of what you think of Jarkko Ruutu, he may be another reason why they're doing well. I know it calls for speculation, but at least he can do what he does over here. Had he been back in the SM-liiga, he would be tossed out of each and every game for fighting. I just wonder what a Ruutu-Peters fight would look like.
