drnkirishone Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 worse then orginally thought not sounding good
GrimFandango Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Fuggin, sonofabeach, recessive trait, cooksuckin, bulldung. That blows.
Wacka Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Out rest of season. May be back if we make the finals.
Mr.Christopher Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 An artery might of been cut in his leg would be my best guess.
Doohicksie Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Nope. Tendon. Lost for the rest of the season. Period. That really sucks. On the other side, Paille is here to stay.
Mr.Christopher Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Tendon was cut thorugh. This sucks
Corp000085 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 cut a tendon in his ankle. will require surgery, out for season, out for playoffs at this point...
GrimFandango Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 I woke up and had an epiphany (like 10 mins ago)... lets Trade Teppo, keep paetch in the lineup and pick up a borderline nhl/ahl defensemen, something like that, but if paetch is to play forward until we fill the hole, there goes that idea.
bob_sauve28 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 God Speed Goose! You will be missed. Hope all heals well
SDS Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 any chance Tedy Bruschi could lay hands on him?
shrader Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 there's connolly's cap space Gaustad's cap hit is just over 700k. That will free up space to keep Paille up here full time. He's making about 10k more than Gaustad.
Screamin'Weasel Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 any chance Tedy Bruschi could lay hands on him? Bruschi is more generous than that: he plans to lend Goose his tendon for the next couple of months. If that doesn't take, he'll lend his entire leg.

ko12010 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 This is a huge loss to the Sabres. I think our seemingly growing reputation for being a soft, finesse team will only get worse. But this really does hit our team hard in terms of physical play. Gaustad is a work horse, high energy, physical force that will be greatly missed, especially in the playoffs. He can actually make a play unlike some of our other big bodies(Peters) The first thing that popped into my mind after hearing this during the broadcast is that now we HAVE to make a trade to bring in some force. I don't think anyone can argue that Gaustad is probably our most physical forward. I literally am in shock now because I just feel Gaustad is such a huge part of this team, and does so many things right. I think this changes Regier's whole gameplan regarding the trade deadline.
drnkirishone Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Posted February 11, 2007 I agree we have to go and get a grity chew up and swallow glass type guy I don't care if he has the scoreng touch of Holezinger with stickhandleing of peters. WE gotta have someone that will fly around hitting everything. Cause Goose was that guy but obiviously more skilled then what i am describing lthou lol
deluca67 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 The injury sucks. But the Sabres have a lot of time to determine if any moves need to be made. Before the Sabres go out and unload prospects for a rent a player. Paillie deserves every chance to fill Gaustad's roster spot. It will be up to Paillie and Novotny to step up their physical play.
