YOUR Buffalo Sabres are scheduled to arrive in Winnipeg shortly, after carpooling from Minnesota early this morning to save $. History of late hasn’t been as nasty to the Sabres while playing in Winnipeg as one might think: Sabres have taken 3 of the last 5 matchups. Today’s tilt being a back-to-back, and the 3rd game in 4 days, will represent tough sledding, however. On a personal note, I had not witnessed a Sabres victory live in person until this fateful, magical day: and tracksuit night, to boot: Go Sabres!

Here we go again. 90 minutes to game time. We could almost watch a Star War in that.

Tonight's Battle on Ice: Buffalo Sabres Face Off Against les Canadiens de Montréal Puck Drop: 7:00 PM EST (or whenever the Sabres decide to stop curling into a fetal position on the ice). Watch Live: On TSN2 or RDS for the Canadiens' faithful, hoping to see their team not accidentally score on themselves, or MSG Buffalo for Sabres fans who might be tuning in just to see how many new ways their team can lose. Streaming available on ESPN+, RDS, TSN+ - perfect for fans who enjoy watching their hopes slowly drain away in HD. Where: Bell Centre in Montreal, where the Canadiens host the Sabres in what might be less of a hockey game and more of a comedy of errors. Current Standings: Canadiens 11-16-3, Sabres 11-16-4 – a matchup to see who can make their fans question their life choices faster. The Sabres are on a 10-game losing streak that's so bad, they might need to start issuing refunds for therapy sessions. The Canadiens, not ones to be outdone in mediocrity, are just trying to keep their heads above water in this sea of despair. After a promising start, the Sabres have turned into a team so directionless they might need GPS to find their own net. Meanwhile, the Canadiens are no strangers to struggle, but tonight they're the slightly less lost ship in this stormy sea of hockey ineptitude. Owner Terry Pegula's recent pep talk to his plummeting Sabres was essentially, "Keep doing what you're doing... but better?" Tonight's game promises to be a defensive clinic... if by "clinic" you mean a place where you go to get your hockey heart broken. Both teams are sporting young defenses that might be better suited for a game of pinball with their penchant for giving up chances. And with goaltending that's about as reliable as a chocolate teapot, expect plenty of goals - most of which will probably be scored into their own nets out of sheer confusion. The Sabres' power play is so ineffective, it's likely they'll score more goals by accident than by design. Meanwhile, the Canadiens' penalty kill has been about as successful as trying to stop a tsunami with a sponge. So, grab your popcorn and settle in for what could be a historic night - not for hockey prowess, but for how many new ways a team can lose.

Tonight's Battle on Ice: Buffalo Sabres Face Off Against the Detroit Red Wings Puck Drop: 7:00 PM EST (or when they find the puck under the pile of excuses from last game's loss). Watch Live: Catch the broadcast team's attempts to mute the booing on MSG-B or FDSNDET, or listen to the full wail of despair on WGR550. Where: KeyBank Center, where the Sabres will attempt to prove they're not just skating in circles... again. Current Standings: Sabres 11-13-3, Red Wings 10-13-4 – a battle for who can make their fans cry into their hot dogs first. Alright, folks, buckle up for the slapstick showdown of the century: Buffalo Sabres vs. Detroit Red Wings! The Sabres, fresh from losing their way, will unleash their secret weapon, Beck Malenstyn, who's so new, he's still looking for the locker room. Without Dahlin, they're like a circus without its main clown, but hey, they've got Malenstyn, who might accidentally score by tripping over his own stick. The Red Wings, with Talbot and Lyon out, are left with Husso, who's been saving shots at an .884 clip, which is basically a neon sign flashing "Open for Business" for real teams who aren't afraid of their own shadows (we're looking at you, Sabres). Or they'll debut Cossa, who's so fresh, he might mistake the goal for a suggestion box. If this game were a magic show, their goaltending would be the disappearing act. Expect a game where the score might be tied at zero-zero because both teams are too busy tripping over themselves to remember they're supposed to be playing hockey. It's less of a game and more of a comedy sketch where the only thing on the ice more confused than the players is the puck itself. Grab your popcorn for a masterclass in how to suck at sports, brought to you by the Sabres and Red Wings. BONUS CONTENT: The AI wanted you to have this gem: The Buffalo Sabres play their home games in a place where the ice is colder than their playoff chances - the KeyBank Center, nestled in the heart of Buffalo, New York. It's where dreams of championships go to hibernate, and the only thing that's consistently on fire is the food at the concession stands.

GDT: Buffalo Sabres @ SJ Sharks 8:00 PM EST MSG-B, NBCSCA, WGR550

Tonight's Battle on Ice: Buffalo Sabres Face Off Against the San Jose Sharks Pack your bags, Sabres fans, because tonight, our team is taking their talents to the City of San Jose for a showdown with the Sharks! It's the Buffalo Sabres versus the San Jose Sharks in what promises to be an aquatic-themed battle on the ice. Puck Drop: 8:00 PM EST (actually more like 8:10 PM). Watch Live: Tune in via MSG-B, NBCSCA, WGR550. Current Standings: Sabres 10-9-1 / Sharks 6-11-5. When: Tonight, under the Californian stars, when the time zones confuse everyone but the players on the ice. Where: SAP Center, affectionately known as the Shark Tank, where the Sabres will attempt to turn the tide in their favor. Why Watch: Because it's not every day you get to see if our Sabres can out-swim actual Sharks. Plus, there's that whole thing about hockey being a beautiful, chaotic ballet of speed, skill, and sometimes, sheer luck. So, whether you're in San Jose cheering from the stands or watching from the comfort of your living room, let's show our support. Let's hope our Sabres can keep the Sharks at bay and maybe, just maybe, show them that in hockey, the biggest fish isn't always the one with the most bite. (Disclaimer: Viewing this game might result in sudden urges to start chanting "Let's Go Buffalo" and possibly considering a career in professional ichthyology to understand the Sharks better.) -
Tonight's Battle on Ice: Buffalo Sabres Face Off Against Anaheim Ducks The Buffalo Sabres are ready to take on the Anaheim Ducks tonight at the Honda Center. Here's your quick guide to the game: Puck Drop: 10:00 PM EST (actually more like 10:07 PM). Watch Live: Tune in via Victory+, MSG-B, KCOP-13, ESPN+ coverage for those out of the Buffalo area, WGR550. Current Standings: Sabres 9-9-1 / Ducks 8-8-2. Sabres Lineup (without Jeff Skinner): Peterka - McLeod - Tuch Benson - Cozens - Lafferty Zucker - Kulich - Quinn Malenstyn - Krebs - Aube-Kubel Players to Watch: Rasmus Dahlin continues to be a key figure for the Sabres, both defensively and in contributing to the scoreboard. JJ Peterka has stepped up his game, aiming to make an impact in Skinner's absence. The Sabres, adapting to life post-Skinner, will need to rely on their depth and emerging talents to challenge the Ducks. With a focus on teamwork and execution, this game is crucial for both teams looking to climb up in their respective conferences. Buffalo needs this game to regain the 8th wildcard slot. Meanwhile, the Ducks are well below the waterline in their division and need this game to stay relevant.

Need some distraction from the Sabres? Rochester starts a back-to-back home-and-home with the Marlies. Some Marlies you might know? Alexander Nylander and Matt "once-refused-a-trade-to-Buffalo" Murray. Speaking of Nylander (who could get a callup and play with his brother now)... Jokiharju is quietly having another calm, steady, if not overwhelming season. He has more goals than Dahlin, more hits than Power, more shots through to the net than Byram, fewer goal-producing turnovers than Samuelsson, and the best defensive +/- on the roster (mainly because he isn't on the ice for PP and when the goalie is pulled).

Mods, please don't merge this with what appears to be a Washington GDT but is actually the Philly GDT from last week.

Good chance we see Robin Lehner tonight. Kahun will probably also play for Buffalo. Montour Risto pairing is very bad.

VS First game for the Sabres after the trade deadline trades and the beginning of a 4 game road trip for the team. Colorado had no mercy on the Sabres in their last meeting, winning in Buffalo 6-1 earlier this month. This hopefully will be a revenge game and the start of a continuing playoff push for the team who have won 6 of their last 8 games. Eichel has been the leader of the team and is among the league leaders with 3 OT Goals (T-2nd), 9 GW Goals (T-2nd), 35 Goals (T-5th), 24 EV Goals (T-6th), 26 PP Points (T-6th), 77 Points (T-7th), 50 EV Points (T-8th). If this play continues he should be a finalist for the Hart Trophy this year. Jimmy Vesey with 2 more games and Colin Miller with 4 more games with reach 300 games played in their NHL career and Henri Jokiharju played his 100th game against the Jets. This should also be the debut as a Sabre for Wayne Simmonds and Michael Frolik has 8 points in his last 9 games in Colorado so it'll be interesting to see if HCRK rolls the dice on him. Can the team pull out a victory tonight because the Sabre faithful "Need Somebody to Love"

Way past my bed time ... 11:00 PM here in beautiful NS. Paging @pi2000 !! Pink courtesy phone @pi2000 ... I know we have other Southern Californians too. Any body going? MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!! I am confident that I do not need to use the goodly word dastardly.

Some will call this a Measuring Stick Game. This couldn't further from the truth. The Bruins know they're better than us and will crush us. This isn't a Measuring Stick Game, this is when the Sabres will prove to the Bruins how very wrong they are about us. They will not believe the fury that is about to be unleashed upon them. I have been to the Mountain. I have seen it. Thus endeth the vision. WILL WIN.

Lets remember that the Sabres are playing tonight. It may be a very important game, but then again maybe not any more important than any other game this season. We should discuss that ... 😉 It also seems that John has finally been shot out of the Sabres cannon and into the small oasis in the desert of Nevada. Just another day in Sabreland MUST WIN!! GO SABRES!!
