  1. Attitude reflects leadership. Pretty sure I heard that somewhere ..
  2. If you think the Sabres were anywhere near a competent team with the players you are crying about then there is clearly no discussion to be had. They had talent, but were not even close to being competitive, and all you mention had given up on the Sabres. It was going nowhere. There was no coming back from the team building and coaching mistakes made by both Murray and Botterill.
  3. You may be right in the long term, but in the short term this is the Sabres solution. Clifton fills several holes for buffalo in the short term, and has certainly shown the ability to step up to a 4D role. He will be given every opportunity to step up to this role on a nightly basis. Very solid move i think. You should not expect another signing or trade this year for a “4D”.
  4. I have to say, I watched my father die in front of me when I was 15, so I feel for you. However, I cannot even imagine how that creates a reason for a total lack of empathy for other people. Your explanation for not wanting to ever give to any charity is absurd.
  5. The new Cal Peterson. Glad we got a third for him, but good riddance if he is afraid of competition for a spot and unwilling to play in Buffalo.
  6. Yes, but good luck getting that call against Boston, in Boston.
  7. It certainly is, and if he is expecting more than that consistently out of Eichel, he will be disappointed.
  8. The farm was largely depleted of D men. Now it’s not. That is all. None of these guys are ever likely to get more than an emergency cup of coffee on the Sabres. (Hopefully)
  9. I agree. He shoveling BS. If he had any interest in signing with the Sabres, it would be done by now. There is zero advantage to returning to MN other than achieving UFA status at this point.
  10. F him. There is absolutely no reason to dddle around with him. He was borderline to begin with plus he baled on the team. I do not see any scenario where bringing him back is a net positive. Let him lie in the bed he made.
  11. He may not be as skilled but he has more heart, and it’s not even close.
  12. Unfortunately very probably true.
  13. He has a really hot GF when he played for Montreal. I think that was the highlight of his career.
  14. He is and always has been a selfish, arrogant , Masshole. Nothing has changed. He never once took responsibility for his failure as leader in the poor performance of the team. I doubt he even understands it. He quit on the team, failed in his role, and now chooses to trash the fans. I was happy he was cut loose and I am very happy with the return thus far. Tuch provides more value to a winning culture than Eichel ever would.
  15. The NHL is a bush league sport run by incompetents. It will never be taken seriously.
  16. Nylander always struck me as entitled and possessing of a very poor work ethic. I was not all surprised he failed once those traits became apparent. I don’t know if he showed up like that or the organization somehow taught him that behavior, but my bet would be in the former given changing organizations did not help him.
  17. Per Eichel today, he asked to be traded, before last season.
  18. Will start in Rochester according to Adams.
  19. If you have Hulu with Live TV it is included.
  20. It seems to me that the Sabres actually treated Lehner quite well in his time in Buffalo, including supporting him through his mental issues. They received very little in return from Lehner and it seems pretty classless on his part for him to trash the organization now. At least he and Jack have that in common.
  21. This is exactly right and in my opinion exactly what needs to happen with the Sabres. The supposed core is rotten. Despite unquestioned talent, and regardless of where the fault lies for where we find ourselves, Eichel and Reinhardt and Ristolainen are not going to lead this team anywhere but to further misery. They have proven themselves to be selfish and ultimately, losers. Time to move on. It will be difficult, and no doubt the return will cause a lot of cats to scream around here, but there is no other way. The assets invested in the underperforming core are sunk costs at this point. Take what you can get and move on.
  22. Improvement was clearly not the point. Montour was an expiring asset with no future in Buffalo and they traded that asset for what they could get. The end.
  23. Absolutely agree. It would be the height of insanity to start tearing down the team and rebuilding before replacing this coach and then evaluating players based on that change. If their plan is to rebuild the team around Ralph and his “philosophy”, they may as well just pack it in and sell the team. Now is the time to replace the coach and the offseason will be the time to structure a rebuild.
