  1. Yes. I would like to see how Östlund does on that line.
  2. If they win a game anytime soon it will be accidental. This is the least completive team I have seen.
  3. Sure, there is a chance. I think there is a far greater chance that a month from now you will be looking at the Sabres 13 game losing streak from last year as the good old days.
  4. This is already looking like the worst team in the NHL by a large margin. Severely under skilled at forward, playing with zero passion or intensity, and seemingly without any grounded system that is discernible. I realize they are missing a few players but that is no excuse for the half assed effort and preparation I am seeing, and saw in the first game as well. Pathetic. 4 periods in and I am ready to be done with them.
  5. It would seem to be the same result wouldn’t you think?
  6. It just seems to me that in many ways the Tuch negotiations are a crucial test of the seriousness of this organization. I know many would argue that question is already answered and I would not dispute that sentiment, but to the extent hope remains then this negotiation is critical. I do not see any way the Sabres can let Tuch walk and have any prayer of fielding a competitive team with this current regime or player set. Quite simply, he embodies what they have been preaching they want in their players, in every respect. I care little about league comparison of value based on advanced stats or any other measure when discussing Tuch. He is critical to THIS team. Signing him provides a window for this team to right this particular ship and move forward. Failure to sign him is admission of failure, and whether they would admit it or not, a restart on the rebuild yet again.
  7. Stop with the common sense! You must overreact as if the very survival of the franchise depends upon the outcome of an arbitration hearing for a 5/6 defenseman.
  8. Coming off a career year, by quite a lot. A return to pedestrian third line center territory is imminent. I do not see the value myself.
  9. Thanks to the NHL for ensuring I would not be tempted to watch this game by restricting it to their obscure and rarely used NHLN. Their incompetence and bush league status actually helped me in this case by not having to witness that game.
  10. While I am OK certainly with moving Cousins out at this point, and on the surface at least the deal seems reasonable, my preference would have been to tie Adams’ hands and hire competent management for the Sabres to accomplish the necessary rebuild of this abortion of a team.
  11. I get that there are injury concerns about Norris, but he has been the more productive player. Additionally, I think the Sabres were lucky to get more than a bag of pucks for Cousins at this point given his precipitous decline in production since his big breakout and his continuing lack of heart night in and night out. Maybe he becomes what he once looked like he could be but in the meantime, good riddance. Time to move on from him.
  12. At this point, I would not want Adams to make any significant moves. That should be saved for a competent front office structure who would have free hand to blow this ***** up and start over.
  13. “Go Bills - and take the Sabres with you” was a very popular sentiment at one time expressed in signs, bumper stickers, shirts, etc.
  14. This team seems incapable of being embarrassed. I am sure Lindy is. The players just don’t care.
  15. I am sensing a lack of enthusiasm here.
  16. This whole thing is pretty childish actually. A couple of points though: 1. it’s not surprising Craig Rivet hates Pegula as he has never gotten over being fired. 2. if people got there wish and Pegula sold the team chances are about 99% that would be the end of hockey in Buffalo.
  17. Today was the worst performance I have seen yet from this team. Just awful. There is definitely a rot in this organization.
  18. On Hulu, the game is shown on the ESPN+ stream. If you have ESPN+ and not Hulu, that also works, but you must be authorized for ESPN+ either way. It is bundled on my Hulu package.
  19. There is some hope that the Rangers take them lightly. That plus another evening of honest effort could well get them the win. But, Shesterkin.
  20. I have missed Lindy, I have to say.
  21. That you would disagree with the choice, no matter who it was, is hardly a revelation. You argument on alternate captains is the real dumbassery.
  22. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting camp, with real competition for spots. About time.
  23. The Sabres could have paid him if they wanted to. They clearly did not want to. I am not sure how anyone could have watched this team last year up to and beyond the trade deadline and say that bringing the band back together was going to be the right course of action. Casey had value and so was traded. I am not saying he was necessarily part of the problem, but clearly not part of the solution in their mind or they would have at least made an effort to discuss extension before trading him. As for what he is worth, like all things, he is worth what someone is willing to pay him. We will see whether last year was an aberration and high point for him or his trend.
