Yes. This. We have way too many guys who are completely scrambled and second-guessing everything they do. Myers showed up and won the Calder by just doing what came naturally. Now he's a mess. Even Thomas Vanek, easily one of the most talented Sabres ever, has struggled with his confidence during his time here. Why are Ruff's players always tentative and never confident? Darcy Regier IS Terry's "hockey people." "Stay the course, Terry. We're just one more contract extension (for me) away from contending....." We can hope.

They could just do James Patrick as an interim coach and start completely fresh next year with a totally new staff (and obviously a new GM). I wouldn't mind. I think we can leave the scouting department intact. Everything else must go.

Not related to the game but the Sabres really need to drop all the silver from their uniforms. The weird gray armpit blobs and the vertical silver piping on the front just muddle an otherwise great jersey.

The point isn't that we needed a center (we did), it's that we somehow didn't need Kassian because we had Foligno. This team could very clearly use both players (especially this year's version of Kassian). Whether we won the trade or not is TBD, but the notion that Foligno made Kassian expendable is just nuts. We absolutely gave up something to get something there.
