The hockey gods... Bunch of gutless wonders. Blame the hockey gods. We can never have nice things. McEichel bye-bye... Buffalo curse lives. Can't even win at losing. Next Crosby is gone. Twenty-ninth just sucks. Lottery only chance now. Percentage is low.

Amen! As much as it sickens me to ever pull for Carolina, a regulation loss on Monday would mean that everyone could finally exhale. It would be fantastic for the fans to be able to actually cheer for the team to win on Saturday and rid themselves of a year's plus worth of pent up frustration. It would be a well-deserved party and the tankers & anti-tankers could finally kiss and make up. -
Why can't GMTM spin him off for an asset(s) now, preserve the tank, & tell Neuvirth on the way out the door, "This helps our future...we're coming for you this summer. We want you to be our #1 when we turn things around next year."?

Well, that's more or less a given. You do have a minimum of four games in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Super Bowl is much more likely to produce a clunker in a one game winner-take-all scenario.

I don't see it happening until after Sochi. I think the Sabres appreciate the benefit that having the goaltender for Team USA on their roster brings. It's positive PR during an especially tough season for the fans. JMO -

Why in the world would he sign with the Sabres?! There's no guarantee that the Sabres would be picking first overall but, man, would he look good in a Buffalo sweater. :wub:
