If the motivation is to get to the bottom of the league standings, he's doing a helluva job.

I don't disagree entirely (see my last post), and I certainly don't want to fight. Sorry if that came across as an attack. We're all cranky & flustered at this point. We all deserve better and we wouldn't be here if we didn't care.

And this is the greater point, Thorny. Nicely said. This game is not just on Hutton, far from it. That said, you go in with one hand tied behind your back knowing that he is more likely than not to give you a subpar performance. That seems to be lost on some.

What's lame, Promo, is that you are the biggest homer on both this forum and on TBD. You see very little objectively. This team and its 'decision making' are not beyond criticism. If you look forward to watching Carter Hutton play, have at it. Nobody can objectively think that the Sabres are winning with him in net. I don't feel that way with Ullmark. He at least has the ability to steal a game behind this crappy D. Hutton does not.

I don't disagree but has he ever made a save when they needed one, regardless of the defense? He is completely inept. He's the proverbial screen door on a submarine. You feel you have no chance with him, even if this team could score.

Is this still 'unacceptable' or are they getting killed 'grittier'?

Honestly, as the coach and GM, how do you go into last off season and say to yourself, "I honestly think we'll be fine with Hutton backing up. We should be okay in goal"??!

Exactly. Interims rarely work out. It's not like firing Herr Krueger will turn around this team's fortunes. They have dug themselves a grave-sized hole and are done this year. The only thing it might...might...accomplish is seeing if the players have been sandbagging in order to get RK fired. Even that would be speculative and not really quantifiable.

Yeah, I know. 'Sabres gonna Sabres' was 'my' reference to the constant last second goals allowed and finding ways to constantly break the collective hearts of their fans. They are even beyond 'Bills drought' frustrating.
