  1. Then Adams should be holding firm on keeping Jack, IMO. I still think that one of these suitors will flinch at the eleventh hour and meet or come close to meeting the Sabres' demands. If they are hell bent on dealing Eichel, a deal including Zegras and the 3OA would get a lot of people excited, me included.
  2. Google is your friend: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl/news/nhl-expansion-draft-2021-full-list-of-players-available-seattle-kraken/ipkgjt2eq5vx13rsis7ae6g62
  3. Some people just need a reason to be angry, I guess. Anyone who believes that all of this franchise's woes are a result of Jack Eichel is completely delusional. They were a dysfunctional mess long before he arrived.
  4. Lunatics gonna rave...
  5. That's about where I fall on the Borgen spectrum. I'm hoping he's not taken but I won't lose any sleep if he is. I don't think anyone believes that Skinner will be the choice unless GMKA made a deal with Seattle to take him off of the team's hands. Even then, the Sabres would probably retain some salary so what's the point? Not happening.
  6. Baseball has done the same thing. As useful as analytics are, they should be just one of the tools in the bag used to support and verify a position not the be all end all for making personnel decisions. The 'eye test' still has its place in sports evaluation.
  7. Unfortunately, what we want and what we get are often two different things.
  8. If not, it might look a little clunky replacing the rocket ship with this...
  9. Is that one of those plastic kiddie 'Firehouse Subs' fireman's helmets perched on his dome?
  10. "Certainly we'd love to have Jack leading the way for us us next year but, again, we're in the process of evaluating the entire organization and readying for free agency and the draft with the full intention of moving forward with players who want to be here and contribute to a winning culture..." Translation: Here are a lot of buzz words with no new or useful information in hopes of appeasing the fans who want to keep Jack as well as those who want him traded.
  11. Maybe the most anticlimactic coaching hire in team history. It's neither thrilling nor disappointing, IMO, and I think the majority of fans probably thought it was coming to this. Like it or not, we have no choice but to accept it and hope that he can turn things around. Good luck, HCDG...you're going to need it.
  12. It would be great if they did it for the 14th home game of the season. I am truly saddened. To this day, 'The French Connection' are my most cherished Sabres memory. I was a 6 (and 7) year old kid during the team's inaugural season in 1970. My dad, a Dunkirk native, had recently gotten out of the Air Force and moved us back to WNY that year after a brief stay in Warren, PA. I spent my formidable years growing up as a diehard Bills, Sabres, and Buffalo Braves fan in the 1970s and those Sabre teams will forever hold a special place in my heart. RIP, Mr. Robert. You were a class act and a great ambassador of the Buffalo Sabres. You will be missed but never forgotten.
  13. I realize you probably said this tongue-in-cheek but that would be par for the course in the dysfunctional town of Pegulaville, would it not?
  14. (Mods feel free to take down or merge if this has already been posted. I didn't see anything) A lot of things make me feel old and you can add this one to the list... "The final game at the Aud was April 14, 1996 against the Hartford Whalers, a game in which the Sabres won, 4-1. Everyone in attendance or even watching on television felt goosebumps as Pat LaFontaine put the ceremonial final puck in the net and the lights going out to close the Aud." https://thehockeywriters.com/remembering-old-friend-buffalo-memorial-auditorium/
  15. Well, as long as it was what was best for Hall... (sarcasm off)
  16. The only one who came to mind when I posed that question was Cozens and I'm not sure that a kid with his level of inexperience would take a run at someone with Hall's veteran stature and league standing (like him or not). Regardless, this organization is a mess and seemingly seems to be continuing its spiral in the wrong direction. It's like standing by helplessly watching a loved one painfully pass.
  17. Does anything really surprise you with this inept organization at this point? Just beyond sad.
  18. Will anybody currently on the Sabres roster take a run at him?
  19. Claimed by Ottawa. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/senators-claim-victor-mete-off-waivers-canadiens/
  20. A fan can dream. 😄
