So a goalie change by NJ and 18 seconds into the 3rd, they have a goal. Seems about right.

They played a great 1st but I thought the 2nd was more of them slipping into survival mode until that late goal by Zucker that made it seem better than it was. Still, if the effort is at least at the level of the 2nd, they should still get it done. If UPL continues to shine, they'll definitely get it done.

I said earlier that they are 7-13-3 in games they have more penalties than their opponent and NJ is near the top of the league in power play goals. The Sabres are playing with fire. Luckily, the Devils just made this a 4-on-4.

Despite the (usual) lack of a goal, that was a mostly good power play.

That's not any worse than lacksadaisical. 😵

I just hope that goal was not their excuse to start turtling and begin another 2nd period collapse. They need to pick it up and get a marker of their own here.

In fairness to him, he didn't shoot it six feet wide like usual. He had a chance and the goalie got a piece of it.

They owned that period. Let's see if they can avoid their typical 2nd period collapse. If they keep playing like this, the game is theirs. Don't let up.
