    I think Regier and Ruff have had enough time to build a successful team here. Time to move on.

    Exactly. That's why Dudley and Gare were two of my favorite Sabres. 40-50 goals and toughest players on the ice.

    I have been told that Sylvester is a kiss ass. Paul doesn't feel he will get the job full time when RJ retires for that reason.

    I talked to Paul today. He said they asked him to do yesterdays game but that's all so far.

    Paul is a friend of mine and he does have extensive play calling over his career. I think last year was the first time he did it in the NHL.

    I think Ellis goes to the bench and the line tinkering had much to do with the number of penalties.

    He was, along with the rest of the league. How can they be tired? 1st game of the season, game over by 4p, 45 minute flight to Buffalo, dinner and a good nights sleep. I don't get how they would be tired.

    Sulzer will play over Weber and Ellis in if Leino is out.

    Even here in Philly/Delaware it's a big event when it snows. 1-2 inches is considered a storm. I'm convinced that some could not survive one winter back home.

    If Regier goes I would guess the new GM would want to pick his own coach so Ruff could go also.

    You have to remember the situation back then. Soviets were the evil empire and the enemy and the '72 Summit Series was still pretty fresh in our minds. The intensity leading up to that game was incredible. It was one the most exciting games in Sabres history. Nothing wrong with that.

    I miss it. Sitting at home flipping through the channels I wish I could watch some games. Even I can get tired of NCIS marathons on USA Network.
