  1. But have they really? I'm not saying it's not justified. I *am* saying that I think the team brought this on themselves by 1) given the boos credit for motivating them to come back in a game they were losing), and 2) continuing with slow starts. I kind of think the fans' attitude is, hey, it worked once, let's try it again. And then when it didn't, out came the FIRE DONNY chants. The players are mad enough at the fans that they've figuratively gone to war against them, but the players have no one to blame but themselves for situation, and blaming it on the fans isn't going to make it better.
  2. You know that and I know that but what do you think Kevyn knows?
  3. Eh. That might just tell Kevyn that the team is on the right track. I don't want him to have that impression.
  4. Everybody that posts here should read this. Thanks for posting it. I know I’m not crazy after all. I can't remember exactly when it was, but I think it was in November; I think Alex Tuch said something similar, and that the boos helped the team realize they had to work harder and they won a game (I thought it was 11/24 vs. Pittsburgh, but in the postgame presser Tuch didn't go there exactly.) But I associate the statement with Tuch, and that it was to the effect that that fans weren't wrong and the team needed to hear it. It worked once, but since then the fans have been quick to boo and it's no longer having the desired effect, making everyone more frustrated. I feel like the FIRE DONNY chants were a direct offshoot of that incident.
  5. Good. I love Donny as much as the guys in the room but the magic is gone. It took Lindy 16 seasons to get to this point but by then I wanted him gone too. It's a necessary move.
  6. You don't agree with that mention, @Thorny? The way I see it, I've been looking at the team through rose colored glasses for some time. I didn't mean my post to be a knock against you. I was recognize that you and @GASabresIUFAN have been realistic about the team, and I'm finally recognizing and embracing the view that this team needs fixing. I included you because more and more lately, I tend to agree with you.
  7. Agree. If the line produces, especially if Benson finds some scoring, it could bode well. I understand giving Krebs the 4th line to give him NHL minutes without the pressure/expectation to score, but if he's of long term use to the team, he probably needs to be part of a productive 3rd line.
  8. Edited your statement a bit. A few years ago, when Mitts was looking lost like Krebs, and he has come around. Not saying that Krebs will follow the same trajectory, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.
  9. I wouldn't. EJ has been worse than I hoped but I think Clifton is okay as a bottom 4 guy. And I recognize bringing EJ in was probably more about the off-ice mentoring of our younger defensemen (Muel, Lil J, Power). I don't have any problem with bringing EJ in. Clifton is and will continue to be a serviceable defenseman. He's not the best but he's okay in a bottom 4 role.
  10. If I had to pick one thing that Kevyn did wrong this offseason it would be the goalie situation. But #2 would be bringing back Okie and Girgs.
  11. I think he's the 7th longest tenured coach and hasn't made the playoffs? That's an easy "prediction" to make.
  12. Sabres fandom boiled down to four words.
  13. No, you don't get off that easy. You and @Thorny have dragged me into the depths of negativity. You can't just apologize and make me feel better about things. 😉
