  1. You know I don't care, not one bit. All those teams are Not The Sabres and that's all I care about.
  2. Actually $52 mil from playing.
  3. Yeah I read that article earlier today and it sounded no more informed than a typical Sabrespace post.
  4. https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/shelter-dog-becomes-fort-worth-police-k-9-officer/ Shelter dog becomes Fort Worth police K-9 officer
  5. Not today, PA. Ask me again tomorrow.
  6. My contention is that he won't even get it started.
  7. If they stay with the same owner they're morons. And I bet there will be no new arena, not even close, by 2028. They way I see it, if Meruelo manages to get the arena built then they will give him the expansion franchise. If he hits delay after delay and spins his wheels, they'll look elsewhere. I'll believe it when I see it.
  8. Also- He doesn't even have the land to build on, Scottsdale doesn't want to build the infrastructure. I think he would have to clear those hurdles and have a stadium well into construction before they would even consider giving him a franchise.
  9. It would make sense rather than having the team play in Mullett which the PA hates. The NHL doesn’t want to leave a Top Ten Television Market if they can find a suitable arena. This would also give other potential owners time to get there bid in order If the Yotes leave the Phoenix area, I don't see the NHL expanding back into that market with the same ownership. The ownership is a large part of why that team has been such a ***** show; why give him another franchise? Would they expect a different outcome? Why would they?
  10. That is simply all the Sabres need to do. I think they need some high end veteran presence to demand it (Daddy Kyle wasn't enough), and a coach who knows how to game coach at the NHL level.
  11. And I was there to see it in person. The disappointing thing is they simply faded away as the game wore on. No heroics at the end, no effort. They Hockey Gods are saying, "Hold my beer."
  12. I think the top young vets still need the support of top older vets (i.e., guys more talented than KO or Girgs) to lead them through the downs of the ups-and-downs of the game. If they stay down too long, they lose whatever growth they'd previously shown. The two poster boys on the team are Dylan and Tage. I worry that JJ, Quinner and Benson will be sucked into the vortex if they don't bring in some real high-talent leadership. I think that ship has sailed, but I wish they'd never traded Marcus Foligno. I think it's likely the Mitts trade was a mistake too.
  13. That will not happen. When you replace the leader you don't leave him around to be 2nd fiddle. Not in any business. No but you could kick him upstairs if you wanted to keep him around. Special assistant to Kevyn for Player Development or some such. I think the only way that makes sense though is if TPegs agrees to move to a new HC but won't sign off if it means paying Donny for doing nothing.
  14. For decades it's been a universal truth: When the Sabres skate hard and don't give up on the puck, they succeed. When they don't they fail. We've seen examples of it even this season, but not consistently enough to win... consistently. I think it was time for Lindy to go the first time around, but I think he could up the Sabres game with the current roster.
  15. I disagree. The Sabres are fully capable of playing the game the Stars did last night. They just don't bother.
  16. We paid $21 per seat. Granted we were in the 300s but it was a good view of the ice.
  17. I usually go to the Sabres game in Dallas every year. From the end of the first period on, this was the most uninspired, crappy version of the Sabres I can remember seeing.
  18. Matt Ellis needs to become the Matt Ellis of fired coaches. I think the whole staff needs to go but Matt Ellis shouldn't even travel with the team tonight.
  19. Just got home from the game. Thoughts- The Stars were the better team and after the first period it wasn't even close. Once the Stars got the lead they made sure they played defense. It wasn't even tough defense, they just got into position and waited for the Sabres to cough up the puck. In contested pucks, the Sabres didn't seem interested in contesting them. The power play was an embarrassment. In other games there was always that hope the Sabres would tie it up and take it to overtime. Not tonight, and it was obvious. le sigh
