  1. 30 miles north of Buffalo is Lake Ontario. (Just going all pedantic on you, I know it's about 30 miles away, and mostly north.)
  2. Yep. With my new car. I think they just use those pics around the showroom.
  3. Apparently it can only be used as a noun.
  4. You can say ass here.
  5. McLeod is okay too. And frankly I don't have a problem with the 4th liners he brought in. They were expendable and got dropped as appropriate. I don't think our 4th line was the problem. That's the least of our problems.
  6. I don't think it's unreasonable. They've all showed signs of being better players than they were last season. The question is: Who are they really? Are they the Better Players they've shown signs of in the past, or the One Step Back players we saw last season? Was last year their collective sophomore slump and they'll bounce back this year? Will some of them do so? Which ones won't?
  7. They are going to say how much they "value" each of their players until they move them. I expect a major move or two, possibly someone who is under the radar at the moment.
  8. So much demand that when the Fort Worth NLL club stopped operations last year, no other city was interested in buying a team that was established and had made playoffs the last two seasons. They just folded. The Bandits are a unicorn that they have a good team in a big league city arena and little to no competition for fans during their season (since the Sabres suck hard ballz). Rochester is a more typical city for the league and if they can't support an NLL club, why would another city want to jump on that?
  9. ....and
  10. For me not so much hate, just disappointment.
  11. They're an easy team to root for. They play the game right.
  12. Other: This is my team and it's bound to get better at some point. Right?
  13. I think it ends tonight. But we'll see.
  14. When Houston gets a team it will be named the Houston Aeros. Book it.
  15. The Rat is en fuego.
  16. They don't call him @Thorny for nuthin
  17. That's the what he was billed as when we drafted him.
  18. I'm not too worried about how it will work out. It's just one of those "when worlds collide" situations, like when I discover two friends I know from different situations actually know each other. In the "first few years" of his career, I'll be retiring anyway.
  19. So my son recently completed a masters degree in a field that the company I work for employs. I work for a Very Big Corporation. In his job hunt he came across an opening at my company and asked me about it. It turns out it's in my department. I purposely didn't want to steer him toward my company; if he got here I wanted it to be his decision. But now that he's interested I'll do what I can to get him in. I'm acquainted with the hiring manager so I forwarded his resume to her. So many applications come in and so many get screened out that it helps to focus the recruiter/hiring manager on a particular candidate. I don't know if they'll pick him or not, but if they do hire him he'll be sitting about a 30 second walk from my desk. Seems weird.
