  1. Other: Sabretooth. I want an edgy mascot like Gritty or something. Maybe replace Tooth with an approximation of the Cheetos Cheetah during a weekend bender, something like that.
  2. I had a couple brief, unsuccessful encounters with gambling. It was early in life when I didn't have the money to gamble and didn't wager much. But what I found is that my limited funds evaporated very quickly. Some people say they know that overall they won't win but they see it as "entertainment". For me, watching my money disappear is not entertaining. So I've never really had much interest in gambling. I don't have anything against people who gamble so long as they're responsible about it, but it's just not interested in it myself. At first I hated the gambling segments during Sabres coverage, now I just tune them out like a commercial (which is basically what they are). EDIT: Most amazing gambling thing I ever saw was in a near-empty casino in Bristol, UK, while on a business trip. We just walked through it to take a look. One of the guys with us said, "Watch this" and put a bet down on one number in the roulette table. No one else was at the table. They spun the wheel and he won. He said the number was the date of the first date with his wife and it hits more often than not.... but only if he plays it once and walks away. 😮
  3. Is this a backhanded way of saying the Sabres are good?
  4. MSG-B in the US, SportsNet in Canada. (You can find this at NHL.com)
  5. The bridge was less than 50 years old. Hardly ancient. There are lots of bridges in service that are twice that.
  6. The ship lost all propulsive power. They had rudder control via emergency power, but without the screws they're pretty much going where the current takes them, and can't effectively stop the ship.
  7. JBot gave him a two year bridge. Kevyn Adams gave him a one year bridge. To me that was the first signal that Kevyn was about to blow everything up. I believe he intended to move the old core including Eichel right from the start, and signing Sam to the 1 year deal was the opening salvo in the remake of the team. I think at that point it wasn't so much that Sam wanted out as it was he'd been told by management (via the 1 year contract) that he wasn't going to be with the team long term. He already knew that he was going to rebuild and that Sam wasn't part of it.
  8. There's a smile when the pain comes. The pain gonna make everything alright.
  9. Dahlin used to also. In fact he still does sometimes, when he thinks his skill can win over an opponent's pressure.
  10. Naw. I actually like most of what you post; just disagree in this case. It's all good. 🍻
  11. No, you are. We're responding to the literal words you wrote and you're trying to maintain you didn't say them. Or that's not what you meant. Or something....
