  1. Pshaw. Alamo Heights is right around the corner from 14,000 seat Dickies Arena. I thought everyone knew that. No, it's OneUtah. He also owns the Jazz.
  2. I missed the game. The wife and I went to The Theatuh to see Hamiltion
  3. He's having a terrific series. I thought he was an offense-first guy but his two-way game has been on fleek in the playoffs.
  4. It all depends on what "position" you're referring to. If the open spot is in the middle six, the Kulich. If it's 4th line, then Rousek. I think Kulich has the higher ceiling but if the open spot is on the 4th line they'd rather let Kulich work on his game in the A. And all that depends on what off-season moves Kevyn makes... who goes out, who comes in.
  5. I think Dahlin gets it based on Lindy's description. I tend to put more emphasis on communication, and there I think Tuch would be the guy. If Lindy is stressing setting an example, then I think it tilts toward Dahlin. Of course this is just a guess based on what I can see as a fan; the locker room dynamic is probably significantly from my perception.
  6. My niece, a NYS Trooper based in Cortland, NY, had her bachelorette party in Austin.
  7. Forton talks about that in the "crying" video, in terms of stating that Kevyn is good about listening to his people and involving everyone in the decisions. The implication was that JBott wasn't so hot at that stuff. So yeah, you can drag Forton for the drafting under JBott, but I think much of that falls to JBott and his above-mentioned aversion to CHL picks. How does that compare to league average? (Honest question, not implying anything good or bad.)
  8. It's more the vibe, not the actual people pictured? Still not sure I see it. A funny photo, though, for sure. I took it more as "talent versus grit."
  9. True, important context. But this also illustrates the contrast in management style between JBott and Kevyn. If I looked around some more I think I could find some quotes from Jerry and others that explicitly say JBott was more dictatorial and wouldn't take advice.
  10. Why do you hate diversity?
  11. $7 million for 7 years.
  12. Trust me, that's just a sample. And I included that many because I think it's interesting to hear what he's said about the talent drafted over the past few years. Takes a while to get through it (but hey, it's the offseason) but I thought it was interesting.
  13. For those of you who were unaware of where that remark came from, this is from the 2022 draft, when asked basically what it was like to work with Kevyn (after having worked with JBott previously). He clearly thinks Kevyn is a better GM as far as listening to his own people. Cued up to the right spot:
  14. I was genuinely surprised you didn't know. He's been part of the Face of the Sabres for quite a while. Get to know Jerry Forton: 2021: 2022: 2023:
  15. Stanley Cup could be final shot at glory – and fortune – for Panthers’ Kyle Okposo If the Panthers win, the pick the Sabres got in the trade upgrades from a 7th to a 5th rounder and Okie gets a $500k bonus from the Panthers.
  16. I bet he cried again. Do you not know? He's been head of amateur scouting for years.
  17. He was not considered much of an NHL prospect prior to his signing. If he was, he'd have been drafted. That's my entire point. I'm not saying he didn't earn his way onto the roster. (But back in those days, making the Sabres roster wasn't saying much, after the cupboard had been wiped clean.)
  18. That's obvious now. My point was that 9 seasons ago many people thought any college production he had was due to Eichel and that he, himself, was not NHL caliber. It wasn't obvious 9 years ago, as evidenced by the fact that he went undrafted.
  19. As a native WNYer living in Texas, I get summer force-fed into me, way too much of it. I enjoy rainy weather.
