  1. He'll interview at least 10 people for the HC job because that's what NHL GMs do. 🤨
  2. If you had 6 months of 90+ blast furnace sun, you wouldn't mind the clouds so much.
  3. I live in Tornado Alley. Again, it's literally like one-in-a-million chance to get hit by a tornado, even in Tornado Alley.
  4. You're full of sh!t. Don't lie about stuff that's easily disproved.
  5. Actually IEPs and special ed services are federally mandated; some states are more enthusiastic than others. To be honest we got better services for my son in Texas than we did in Michigan.
  6. Detroit suburbs are fine. The city never really recovered from the race riots of the 1960s.
  7. My son is a counter argument: He was speech delayed and on the autistic spectrum and got everything he needed here in Texas at the public schools. He's now a teacher with a master's degree and working on another degree in data analytics.
  8. And yet every person I know down here in Texas who travels to WNY marvels at how nice it is, how beautiful it is.
  9. Yeah, no. Only a handful of homes in Texas are damaged by tornadoes in any given year. The closest I've ever been to a tornado was when I lived in Detroit and one rolled through in 1997 a few miles from my house. I've lived in Texas 30 years and never had tornado damage to my home. I had one roof replaced due to hail damage.
  10. The reason I moved from Los Angeles to Fort Worth in the 1980s was cost of housing. I could never buy a house in Los Angeles, period. Fort Worth used to be a pretty affordable market, and relatively speaking I suppose it still is. In the study the 60 Minutes report was based on, It comes in at Number 35, although it's lumped in with Dallas. It would be interesting to see where it would fall by itself. Houses here aren't "cheap" anymore, but they were for a long time. It's only the last 5-10 years that home prices started to jump locally (like, just when I bought my current home 6 years ago).
  11. If he's sick and it's affecting his performance, especially for a championship series, GET SOMEONE ELSE.
  12. I think it was about $140 per ticket for those mezzanine seats.
  13. The Fort Worth NLL team (Panther City Lacrosse Club) plays there.
  14. Pshaw. Alamo Heights is right around the corner from 14,000 seat Dickies Arena. I thought everyone knew that. No, it's OneUtah. He also owns the Jazz.
  15. I missed the game. The wife and I went to The Theatuh to see Hamiltion
  16. He's having a terrific series. I thought he was an offense-first guy but his two-way game has been on fleek in the playoffs.
  17. It all depends on what "position" you're referring to. If the open spot is in the middle six, the Kulich. If it's 4th line, then Rousek. I think Kulich has the higher ceiling but if the open spot is on the 4th line they'd rather let Kulich work on his game in the A. And all that depends on what off-season moves Kevyn makes... who goes out, who comes in.
  18. I think Dahlin gets it based on Lindy's description. I tend to put more emphasis on communication, and there I think Tuch would be the guy. If Lindy is stressing setting an example, then I think it tilts toward Dahlin. Of course this is just a guess based on what I can see as a fan; the locker room dynamic is probably significantly from my perception.
  19. My niece, a NYS Trooper based in Cortland, NY, had her bachelorette party in Austin.
