  1. Yep. Tracking apps when you're tracking someone else are great.
  2. The Carolina loss almost seems like the Hockey Gods avenging the Sabres loss in 2006. Should have won but for injuries.
  3. I see an attempt at a one-footed stop. His right leg was tangled up with the goalie. The left leg was the only one available to stop with.
  4. OMG I didn't realize the post was quoting was THAT old! 😄
  5. I was a proponent of this before Power got here. So far Donny hasn't shown any propensity to put those two together.
  6. Watch it again and watch his other leg.
  7. The Hurricanes are incapable of losing at home. That bodes well for them at least through the conference finals.
  8. That was the point: He wasn't playing the puck, he was off balance after his first leg hung on the goalie. He was trying stop with pulling a groin. The "kick" maneuver he did had nothing to do with the puck.
  9. I hope Donny Meatballs watches the game film of Cozens. He enjoyed success at worlds and perhaps deploying him similarly on the Sabres will boost his scoring. For instance, he might be a good candidate to put in the slot for power plays. He seems to do well in the dirty areas where reflexes are more important than having a great shot. (Yes I know the video tweet I'm embedding was not on the power play)
  10. I'll be looking forward to this. At the height of the Wings-Avs rivalry I'd been living in Detroit several years. My wife and I were big-time Red Wings fans. The last time went to a home game for a team I was rooting for was in Detroit (I haven't watched the Sabres play in Buffalo since the 1970s.) Early in my career I lived in cities that couldn't care less about hockey (Los Angeles in the mid 80s) or didn't have an NHL team (Fort Worth, part of the Dallas market through the early 90s). I moved to Detroit in 1991 and at the time Detoit had a love-hate relationship with the Red Wings. The loved Stevie Y and many of the other players, but were tired of not getting past the first round of the playoffs. They were especially hard on goalies, literally booing some of them off the team. I watched them ascend from being just another easy mark in the playoffs to winning the Cup in 1997. I touched the Cup the day they won the Cup (it was on display in downtown Detroit that day). I remember going to a bar near my house to watch the Wings-Avs game where the Wings took some revenge after Claude Lemieux had broken Kris Draper's face along the boards the previous season. That game launched the Wings on their Stanly Cup run; they were on a mission after that. So yeah, I'm looking forward to this show.
  11. Wow, can't believe they called that goal back.
  12. Dear @Brawndo: Please change the title one more time to spell Arttu's name correctly (two t's, one u). Thanks.
  13. Fair enough... I kind of escalated it by saying hot trash when that's not what you said. Peace.
  14. You didn't use the actual words "hot trash" but calling his play inexcusable is pretty much the same thing. As for "crazy takes" you are often hyperbolically critical of Sabres players.
  15. He's basically $7 million for the next two years... perfect term; it gives the Sabres the option to extend or move him depending on other contracts.
  16. I didn't watch the games, only saw highlights but from the limited clips I saw I thought he was prominent in a good way. At the AHL level he appears to be a top-pairing, scoring Dman. On the Sabres he's a 6/7 D that provides gritty depth.
  17. I actually like that idea. That could be a very dynamic middle six line. And you could let Asplund and Nylander sort it out as to who should play center; both are C/W types.
  18. 2G/5A led all Amerks' Dmen in scoring. -6 in +/- was second worst but I think that may be a reflection of him being played against other teams' top lines.
  19. I've been to Walmart once in the last decade, and it was to get one particular item that my vet said would be available there. If I didn't have a cat coming out of anesthesia in the car I would have tried other places first. But if there's a way to cut a corner, that's the place that's gonna do it.
  20. So you're saying you could do better? I get weary of you in particular pronouncing players hot trash. Why are you even a fan?
  21. Would have never gotten to OT at all if Murray hadn't scored twice in the third, so there is that... I'm kind of philosophical. I didn't really expect them to get this far. I wanted them to win it all, but in terms of development a number of Sabres prospects saw high level playoff hockey, and no doubt learned a lot from that. It's not NHL level playoff hockey, but the experience should help them when the Sabres eventually do make the playoffs.
  22. You can't redraft 2015 starting at #2 and expect it to not be about the Sabres who had the #2 pick. (on a Sabres forum, to boot)
