  1. Would you want to work for your dad? I don't think most people would.
  2. Holtby is out and probably retiring.
  3. We got the answer to that last year. I am.
  4. Read the thread. Comrie is next years Ville Husso. Husso had 17 games of NHL experience by 26 year old entering last season. Comrie was 26 last season.
  5. They're both fine as long as they're not paired together.
  6. It's meaningless to the team's cap situation, but not to the insurance payout. They will likely move Bishop to LTIR so that the insurance pays out.
  7. Also of note is that despite their hockey experience, they weren't particularly adept at making good hockey moves or building a functional team. I think the single biggest attribute that Kevyn has that Murray and JBot didn't is trust. I think there were commands from management and reports back up the chain under the first two, but little actual communication of ideas. I really think that Kevyn laid out his vision and did what he had to in order to get buy-in. (From what I see, Kevyn did this on Day One but was overruled and respectfully followed the Krueger Keep Jack Happy tack, then at the Boca meeting prior to RK's firing laid out his plan again and got the blessing of the ownership to move forward with it.) I think that with prior GMs there was nominal communication about transactions, etc., with ownership but it was primarily lip service with little exchange of insight or consensus back and forth.
  8. ...and that Kevyn was roundly panned as an awful hire.
  9. He struggled mightily with Casey Fitzgerald as his partner.
  10. Yep but it’s for only two years so won’t matter. and not by that much.
  11. Definitely. He hasn't looked out of place when paired (briefly) with Dahlin. He is the perfect 3rd pairing/depth Dman.
  12. You forgot to mention that of that $3.5M, 75% will be paid by insurance if he does go on LTIR as expected.
  13. I think that's evident to most of us on Sabrespace
  14. Rode a measly 12 miles on this morning's breakfast ride. Basically rode to the start, shortest possible route to breakfast (5 miles), then straight home. It was in the 80s when we started, 90s when we finished and up to 103 currently. Original forecast was for a high of 113 but they've backed that off a bit. Still.... HOT, which is why we rode one of our shortest breakfast rides ever.
  15. This is kind of the way I see it too. I just don't see him being a fit with this Sabres team.
  16. But most of all, easier to trade as a prospect if need be than a smaller goalie would be.
  17. Really though, you don't know what KA has or has not offered to other teams for trade or to UFA goalies as a contract offer (even Ullmark we don't truly know what was offered). Did he fail on the goalie front this offseason? It remains to be seen, and saying that he's failed for three years is not accurate.
  18. I don't have to let it go. At the NHL level he is literally the best goalie, statistically, that has any connection to the club.
  19. You haven't been watching how KA operates in the trade market, have you?
  20. Hell, every Sabres trade proposal I see involves moving Bryson. If Kevyn decides he needs an actual RH shot for RHD he should be able to trade Bryson for a decent RHD straight up. But he hasn't signed with the Sabres yet.
  21. Yeah but Sabres goalies are like Spinal Tap drummers.
  22. ...which is infuriating; we've waited long enough. But if it eventually yields a perennial contender it will be worth it. From this point in time though there's no way to know what the end trajectory will be.
  23. I think that's the issue really: Both parties are ready to move on from each other.
  24. That was the early 1990s Red Wings. They were tough on goalies and went through a bunch until things stabilized with Mike Vernon and his acolyte Chris Osgood. Maybe Kevyn is trying to find a Mike Vernon for his goalie prospects. Craig Anderson is close but too far past his prime (and he never really was that good.... Vernon had a prior Cup to his credit).
  25. Eh. He seems like a Louie Domingue.... flashes of brilliance and long periods of meh.
