I think it's likely UPL will get a shot at starting with the Sabres. It likely won't come at the start of the season; I expect he'll be sent down. But when either Comrie stumbles or Andy gets hurt, UPL will be there and I expect he'll do well. What that will likely lead to is a Comrie-UPL tandem, although possibly not until next year. If one of them is clearly better it will be starter and backup, or else it will be 1A and 1B.

Not so sure. If they raised it to that much, would, say, 90% of subscribers dump them? They may be getting such a broad base that they can easily live on $5/month from a huge number of people.

Not a conspiracy theory at all. Logic. There are two reasons for preseason games: Tuneup for the NHLers, and evaluation of bubble players. Top players play at home to sell tickets; scrubs play away because you gotta do it sometime and you don't wanna do it at home. It was unfortunate that Comrie drew two away games though, but who knows maybe he asked for that to get some work in.

.810 Sv% is not gonna get it done. You can say it wasn't the top D, but it isn't like Comrie got shelled in either game he played. He faced an average of 29 shots/game in the two games he played.

Not even sure what this means? Each of the prospective goalies got 2 starts in reverse order of how we rate them in games that are designed to get them ready for the coming season. Why would you possibly worry about your 'best' goalie – a player who is both young, and healthy - playing behind the type of lineup he's playing behind tonight? Isn't it a pretty typical preseason lineup, the likes of which most goalies have to play behind in pre-season? Don't you want him to be tested? He actually wants to win preseason games as if they matter.

Watching Kings/VGK preseason game in Salt Lake City. It was 3-2 VGK. LAK almost tied it up but the puck was picked out of the air as it went toward the goal by the VGK and the Knights skated down and scored the other way. On replay it was obvious the Kings had scored, but apparently they are doing replays during the preseason. Had it been the regular season it would have been tied 3-3 but without replay the VGK currently lead 4-2.
